    Q
Will Celsius WG Herbicide kill basketweave?
    A

Celsius WG Herbicide is not labeled for basketweave/basketgrass.

Unfortunately, there really are not a lot of options for treating basketgrass. It should be spot treated with a non selective herbicide, and then reseed/resod in those areas

  • Asked by Clayton from North Richland Hills

    Q
Will freezing Celsius WG Herbicide extend its lifetime?
The product amount is too much for me to use in 3-5 years; I would like to be able to freeze some that I am not planning on using. Will this extend its lifetime?
    A

For maximum effectiveness, Celsisus WDG should be kept at room temperature.  Storing chemicals in cold/freezing temperatures will degrade the active ingredient and greatly reduce the efficacy of the product. When stored properly, out of extreme temperatures and out of direct sunlight, you can expect Celsius to last for about 3 years from the date of purchase.

  • Asked by Jeffrey from Greenville, Nc
    01/07/2022
    Q
Can Celsius WG Herbicide be applied in January when temperatures are 30-60°F to kill clover that is actively growing in a "dormant" centipede lawn?
The centipede is brown and the clover is popping. Is there any danger of damage to “dormant” centipede (it's not really dormant) if Celsius is applied?
    A

Celsius WG Herbicide is labeled as safe to use on centipede during any dormant/growing season for actively growing weeds.

The product label does advise that weed control is more rapid when soil temperatures are above 65 degrees and slower when soil temperatures are below 65 degrees.

  • Asked by Clint from Daphne Alabama

    Q
Will Celsius WG Herbicide kill clover? Will this require a 2nd treatment?
    A

Celsius WG Herbicide is labeled to kill several species of clover however per the product label, if weeds are showing signs of recovery, make a second application 2-4 weeks after the first treatment.

In areas where weed pressure is high and adequate coverage is critical, add a non-ionic surfactant (NIS) and weeds will be better controlled when temperatures are between 65 to 85 degrees.

    Q
Will Celsius WG Herbicide control poa annua (annual bluegrass)?

  • Asked by Kenneth from Madison Fl

    Q
Will Celsius WG Herbicide kill carpetbegger weed without injuring English Ivy?
    A

Celsius WG Herbicide is labeled to control for both carpetweed (Indian Chickweed) and creeping beggarweed at the rate of 0.057 oz per 1000 sq ft. This product is also labeled to control ground ivy but DOES NOT list English Ivy as tolerant or safe for applications.

We would recommend doing small test application first or directly applying to the carpetweed/beggarweed without overspray or contact with the desired English Ivy.

    Q
After applying Celsius WG Herbicide for post emergent control of weeds, can Lesco 0-0-7 pre emergent be applied?
    A

We would recommend applying the pre emergent first as pre emergents need to be watered sufficiently into the soil to help stop the weeds from germinating.

Celsius WG Herbicide can then be applied to control actively growing weeds after the pre emergent application has dried.

  • Asked by Josh from Alabama
    03/31/2022
    Q
Can Celsius WG Herbicide be used on monkey or mondo grass for broadleaf and grassy weed control?
    A

Celsius WG Herbicide should not be applied to groundcovers including mondo grass. We recommend spot treating with a non-selective herbicide such as Roundup QuickPRO very carefully or manual removal of broadleaf weeds in the groundcover.

Fertilome Over the Top II is labeled to kill grassy weeds in lirope or monkey grass as well as various other ornamentals and ground covers if applied as directed on the label.

We do recommend applying pre-emergent herbicides in the future prior to weed germination and before soil temps reach 50-55 degrees.

For timing in your area, we suggest consulting with your county cooperative extension office.

  • Asked by Gregory from Ar
    06/02/2022
    Q
Should a surfactant like Penterra be used along with Celsius WG Herbicide?
    A

Soil penetrants contain surfactants but would not replace a true surfactant that is commonly recommended on herbicide product labels. Celsius WG Herbicide should be mixed with a non ionic surfactant for best results and harder to kill weeds therefore you would want to do 2 separate applications. Apply the Soil Penetrant first, then apply Celsius WG with the non ionic surfactant as directed per the product label.
