    Q
Will Crossbow Herbicide kill briar without harming trees and grasses?
    A
Crossbow is a vegetation management product which means it is not very selective, it will kill almost anything.  Although it will not harm a tree when used at recommended levels if it gets on the base of the tree, it will harm a tree if you spray Crossbow on the foliage.  For applying over grasses you need to make sure you apply at the recommended levels on the product label.

    Q
What is the best product to kill poison ivy and other weeds common to farm areas?
I own a small farm (36 acres 7 0f which are planted) the wooded area surrounding the planted area is full of poison ivy, briars and other common pests. They flourish around a stream that needs to be cleaned out but we need to get rid of the ivy and briars first. Would you also recommend a back pack sprayer.
    A
For the areas that are away from the stream it is best to use Crossbow which is great for the poison ivy and briars, mixed with a glyphosate product like Ranger Pro.  These together will kill the poison ivy and briars.  For areas on the bank of the stream you should use Rodeo with a Surfactant since Rodeo is labeled for use near water and will not harm the aquatic life.

    Q
How can I kill an oleander bush? Nothing I've tried has worked, short of digging one out.
I've tried many products, methods and concoctions to try and kill these bushes. Digging one up worked to get rid of it, but was a JOB! I have about a dozen to get rid of, what product can you recommend that will kill these bushes?
    A

Your best bet in your situation is called Crossbow.  It is an herbicide that is labeled for what is called a cut stump treatment.  A cut stump treatment is where you hack or saw or cut the tree or bush off down at the stump level and immediately drench the roots and/or cut stumps with a concentrated dose of crossbow.  The important thing here is to immediately drench the cut stump after cutting, so you want to mix the product and have it ready to go immediately after cutting it. It may require 2 treatments.

Will Crossbow Herbicide kill wild violets in my lawn?
Is this an effective killer of wild violets? Will it do better than Brush/Stump Killer?

Crossbow Herbicide contains one of the same active ingredients as the Fertilome Brush and Stump Killer plus it has the added ingredient of 2,4-D but it is not labeled for use on home lawns so would not be recommended.

    Q
Will Crossbow kill bindweed in bermuda grass without hurting the grass since it is a warm season grass?
    A
Crossbow is not supposed to harm established grasses and should pose no threat on your Bermuda grass according to the manufacturer.  This being said, we always recommend treating a small area first to test the results.  As long as your grass is not stressed by drought and it is healthy the grass will not be harmed.

    Q
Will Crossbow work to kill Stinging Nettles?
    A
Crossbow only has horsenettle on the label for controled plants so we are unsure if this would work for your needs. For this type of plant, most have to pull up what they can before the root system spreads out underground too far, and spot spray places with a glyphosate type product like GlyPho-Sel Pro. This will kill anything you spray it directly with so be cautious around ornamentals or desired vegetation. We have put in a call to one of our specialists to make sure there are no other products that will fit your needs and will contact you with that information as soon as it is available. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
