Crossbow Herbicide is a vegetation management product which means it is not very selective, it will kill almost anything. Although it will not harm a tree when used at recommended levels if it gets on the base of the tree, it will harm a tree if you spray Crossbow on the foliage. The required spray volume will increase substantially if the brush exceeds 5 feet in height. Brush over 8 feet tall is difficult to treat efficiently. Large brush or trees may be controlled better by basal or mechanical methods.

For more products that can be applied as an over spray or those resistant pigweed varieties, we recommend contacting your local Master Gardener for additional recommendations. Please let us know if they suggest a product that you cannot locate on our website and we will make an effort to locate the product for you.
Crossbow Herbicide is not labeled for bamboo, however we have heard if you cut down the bamboo level with the ground and apply Crossbow or a similar Triclopyr based product undiluted to the fresh cut it can help kill it out. Bamboo is extremely stubborn, so it can take several steps to remove it completely. You can use Round Up QuickPro at the highest listed usage rate to help eliminate bamboo. You will be required to cut the bamboo down to a short stump and then apply the Round Up QuickPro. It can take several applications to achieve the desired results.
It is best to apply Crossbow Herbicide when the plants are actively growing, which would be when the temperature is above 55 degress and below 85 degrees. For some viney plants, there are dormant stem applications. Please refer to the product label for your specific needs.
