Granular algaecide works great to kill algae beneath the water. I use it around the edge where algae usually forms first in my pond. I apply when I see algae first beginning to grow.

I spread this by hand about like you would broadcast fertilizer and it worked really well. I had a lot of chara in my pond and 3 days after applying it, gone! It's been a couple weeks now and still nothing growing back. I bought 4 bags so I can get it at an early stage so there won't be as much decomposing in the water.

After reviewing all possible algaecides (about 30 brands) I decided on Cutrine as the least noxious for use in lakes also used for drinking water, recreation, fishing etc. Applied according to instructions on a minimal area of thick hydrilla around 155 sq ft. After two weeks there does not appear to be any difference.

I have been using this product for five years to treat algae build up on HarTru tennis courts. I decided to try it and mix in w/the HarTru material and the results have been amazing. Better than any topical spray treatment.

I have a 3 acre pond and this spring the sting algae seemed to grow like crazy. It was growing all around the perimeter of my pond in the more shallow water and floating everywhere. I bought one Bag of Cutrine Plus Granular and lightly spread it by hand around the entire shoreline, trying to make contact with the granular and the algae itself. This pond is stocked with fish so I wanted to careful not to overdose the treatment. Almost like magic, the algae started to shrink within one day. By day three the algae was completely gone! It’s been 5 weeks since first treatment, I’ll buying another bag and will retreat in a few weeks. I love seeing the clear water without algae floating everywhere!

I have an 8 acre lake that all of a sudden had green algae all around the edges. My pond guy recommended Cutrine. I used a seed spreader to spray the whole bag around the lake and within 48 hours the lake was crystal clear. WOW! I'm getting another bag to keep around.

I have used the liquid with just a pump sprayer in the past for my 1/2 acre pond with noticeable results for Filamentous Algae. I have used the granules a couple of times now for it does not seem to be working well for my current situation -which appears to be a floating duckweed. I will probably go back to the liquid as it is easier for me to apply.

I hate leaving reviews and only do it when I find a product that actually works. I used this in my mossy overgrown canal and it has cleared up the string algae and I have clear water now!
