Granular vs Liquid

I have used the liquid with just a pump sprayer in the past for my 1/2 acre pond with noticeable results for Filamentous Algae. I have used the granules a couple of times now for it does not seem to be working well for my current situation -which appears to be a floating duckweed. I will probably go back to the liquid as it is easier for me to apply.
