Cy-Kick CS - Questions & Answers

No, there should be no issues to birds by applying Cy-Kick CS around the perimeter of your home.  When our products are mixed correctly, even though they are professional strength, they are only strong enough to kill the small insects the product is intended for.  Remember that pest control professionals use this product every day around thousands of homes across the country and if it was a danger to birds, the EPA would have never approved it.

Cy Kick CS is a water based product and should not cause damage to any surface that water would not damage.

Cy-Kick CS is actually the preferred choice of our customers for scorpions and is probably the most popular product we sell for that reason.  Cy-Kick CS is microencapsulted, and Talstar is not.  Basically this means the Cy-Kick does not break down as fast in the hot sun and will last longer.  Our Cy-Kick page has many reviews left on it about scorpions and its effectiveness on it.  For this reason, we would recommend Cy-Kick CS.

There are several products that would do an awesome job controlling scorpions. Cy-Kick CS is a favorite among professional pest control operators. Cy-Kick CS is a micro-encapsulated product. This means that the particles of the active ingredient are contained in tiny mico-capsules, the insect walks onto the treated surface and picks up the capsules on their bodies and then the micro capsules slowly dry out and crack and the active ingredient oozes out on the insect. These micro capsules make the Cy-Kick last for up to 90 days and also make it safer to use around pets and children. Be sure to spray in the areas where scorpions actually harbor, rock beds, garden areas, bricks walls, under landscaping timbers and also spray around the perimeter of your home.

As long as the treated areas had a chance to dry before the rain started, you should not need to reapply Cy-Kick CS for 30 days.

We do not manufacture Cy-Kick CS, we are a retailer for the product. Insecticides are non-selective. This means that they can kill just about any insect that crosses over treated areas, including the beneficial insects. You can help minimize this, by only applying insecticides according to the product label, only in needed areas and only when necessary. Unless the chickens are consuming the Cy-Kick CS directly there should be no effect on the bird or their eggs. Once the product has dried, it only has a toxicity level of that to kill something as small as an insect. The insect walks across it, picks up a little bit on their feet/bodies and ingests it as they groom themselves. For there to be even a chance of your chicken having any effect from the Cy-Kick CS, they would have to eat at least their weight worth in insects that have died from it.

The best Scorpion control would be Cykick CS. They have different active ingredients, CyKick CS seems to work better on scorpions and will stand up to UV rays longer without breaking down.

CyKick CS is labeled as children and pet safe as we advise to refrain any children or pets from the area until the treated areahas completely dried for 1-2 hours after applying. 

Very hot temperatures and a lot of direct sunlight will reduce the efficacy of insecticides which is why manufacturers give varying times of efficacy such as "will work for 4-12 weeks outdoors". During ideal conditions you can expect the Cy-Kick CS to last for 12 weeks, during very hot temps and lots of UV rays you can expect the product to last for about 4 weeks.

Cy-Kick CS is labeled for a contact kill only for fleas. According to the product label, Cy-Kick CS will not leave an effective residual for continued control of flea populations. We recommend using the products contained in our Outdoor Flea Kit for best results. This kit contains Onslaught which kill the biting adult fleas and Martins IGR which will help stop juvenile fleas from reaching a breeding cycle. 

Yes, Cy-Kick CS can be used in apartments. You would focus on cracks, crevices, and entry points.

Since both products contain synthetic pyrethroids there is no valid reason to mix Suspend SC and Cy-Kick CS together, it would not make either product work better or produce better results, though it could make treated areas repellent to insects lessening the effectiveness of the treatment. Each of the these products will do a great job though Cy-Kick CS is microencapsulated which means it can last a little longer in outdoor applications. We recommend that you choose one product, read the product label and use the highest label rate allowed for best results.

Yes cykick is labeled for Bed bugs. However, we have put together Bed bug Kits that include all of the products needed to eradicate bed bugs.

Cy-Kick CS is a great product for ticks based on our customer feedback.  Cy-Kick CS will usually last between 30 to 60 days before you need to treat again.  However, if you have a bad infestation with ticks you should apply every two weeks for best results.  You should also replace your pets bedding and make sure they have flea/tick baths and flea/tick medicine applied properly to help minimize new infestations.  Please read the Cy-Kick CS product label for specific treating instructions on ticks, which is located underneath the picture on our product page.

Oriental cockroaches and wood roaches are easily confused, because they look somewhat similar so it is important to know which type you are actually treating for.  Wood cockroaches do not breed inside houses, no treatment is generally necessary other than a barrier spray around the outside to help kill them.

Cy-Kick CS should not be harmful to lizards or Geckos. They may leave the area treated, because Cykick CS will kill the insects they are preying on.

With most concentrates including Cy kick CS, you want to be sure to use all mixed solution within 24 hours of mixing. Cykick is a great choice for crickets and scorpions. In the original container, if stored in a cool dry area, the shelf life is 3 years.
