Dandelions Pre Emergent, The Anderson's 21-3-8 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide?

Will Anderson's 21-3-8 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide prevents Dandelions? Can it be applied to St.Augustine? When is a good time to apply in North Texas?

Answer:

The Anderson's 21-3-8 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide is not labeled for dandelion. You may want to look into Dimension 2EW. It is a pre emergent like barricade, but is labeled for dandelion and many other types of broadleaf weeds. The ideal time to apply a fall pre-emergent herbicide like Dimension 2EW Herbicide to your yard is between August and November when the soil temperature is below 70 degrees and dropping.  You may contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region or search online for best time to apply in (your area).  A lot of universities have great articles for this.
