    Q
If I only have a very small location to use Delta Dust, can I apply directly from the tip of the bottle?
I have wasps entering a exterior electrical outlet so I was going to place it around the outside perimeter of the outlet.
    A
Delta Dust is intended for application with a hand or power duster, with a paint brush or by other suitable means, for hiding and runaway areas and other places where insects are found. We recommend removing the cover on the exterior electrical outlet and using a Bellow Hand Duster to apply the Delta Dust inside the electrical outlet and the areas between the outlet and siding. Without getting the dust inside the outlet, we can not predict if the Wasps will come into contact with dust if it is just applied around the outlet. When treating around electrical outlets, use dusters fitted with plastic or fiberglass spouts, or place a small section of rubber hose or plastic tubing over the metal tip to avoid contacting electrical wires. These tubes will also enable you to reach around corners and beneath cabinet voids that would otherwise be impossible to treat.

    Q
Is there a powered (not battery) dust disperser available? ...perhaps, an attachment to a blower?
Needed for powerful dispersion (insufflation) of powder underneath a house (in the "crawl space" where we do not want to enter). German roaches are the target.
    A
We do have a variety of dusters to choose from. Plase visit our dusters page here.

    Q
My 50 pound dog licked a carpenter bee most likely killed by Delta Dust. Should I be concerned?
    A
If Delta Dust is inhaled or ingested in large quantities your dog could have an adverse reaction to the dust. In small quantities, like licking a dead insect, you most likely would not see any reaction other than sneezing as the dust could be irritating to the mucus membranes in the nose and mouth.

  • Asked by N from Hamilton Tx
    05/28/2016
    Q
How much Delta Dust should I need for a 1000 sq/ft house?
We have an old house that needs to be torn down but is infested with bees of some sort. House is about 1000 sq/ft.
    A

You will want to try and locate and directly treat the areas where the nests are behind the walls as much as possible. Drilling holes into the wall and puffing the Delta Dust into the nests and entry and exit points for the bees is the proper way to treat and then give the dust time to eliminate the nest entirely. That being said, each 1lb bottle should treat roughly 1000 sq/ft, so depending on how heavy you plan to apply the product (dont apply too heavy or they can't easily move through the dust) would depend on if you would need more than one bottle.

  • Asked by Tyse from Chandler, Az

    Q
Can I use Delta Dust along the small rock borders that surround my property?
I am renting and found out we had a scorpion infestation. I have sprayed perimeter with PCO cedar oil, cyfluthrin and bifurin. Also sprayed interior. I have 5 adjacent neighbors, only 1 sprays. As my brother is blind I have to do everything I can. I decided NOT to add delta dust to top of block wall as I have no way to protect anything good that touches it so can I add to ground level rock borders as added protection to keep migrating scorpion from Neighbors getting to close? I need to be responsible to protect my brother but also protect any wandering animals, etc
    A

Yes, Delta Dust can be applied to the base of the rock wall to protect against scorpions. This product is water-resistant and will not wash away in the rain if applied into the cracks and crevices. Be sure to re-apply every seven months.

  • Asked by Tricia from Miami, Ok
    05/07/2017
    Q
Will Delta Dust kill water bugs and is it safe dogs and kids?
    A

You must keep out of reach of children and pets.  Delta Dust is very safe to use indoors around pets when used as directed on the product label. You should keep children and pets out of the room while you are applying the product, and then it is ok to allow them to come back in once you are done.  It is used in cracks and crevices where they do not have access. For a successful program, please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for additional information. We suggest applying the products in our Roach Control Kit along with non-chemical methods.

  • Asked by Nick from Addis, La
    09/27/2017
    Q
Will the Delta Dust Insecticide decrease a gecko infestation?
    A

Delta Dust Insecticide can be applied to listed areas for controlling many pests which geckos eat. If treating theses pests with insecticides such as Delta Dust, it should reduce the gecko/lizard population. They are driven to seek food elsewhere. There are no toxic products labeled for geckos, lizards or any reptiles or amphibians, and given the highly beneficial nature of these creatures there is not likely to be any product for them any time soon. The reason they are on your property are because they can find food and proper habitat. Take away their food and they will forage somewhere else. Take away the conditions they need for hiding and they will seek refuge someplace else.

You really have two options here:

1.Exclusion. Total exclusion can be hard to achieve particularly around the roof-line where there are going to be gaps that would be very hard to close off, but there also could be some obvious flaws such as broken vent screens, holes around cables, pipes or wires, or gaps under doors. All of these can easily be closed with brush strips, caulking, copper mesh (Stuf-Fit), or some other suitable material. Exclusion is the best choice, because it is permanent, and eliminates or reduces the problem in the future too.

2.Outdoor habitat modification. In short, get rid of the reasons geckos are there in the first place. They are there because they are finding the food they need to survive (insects) and a place to harbor. If you can eliminate either of these essentials, you can get rid of the geckos. Spray a good residual insecticide such as Cyzmic CS around the outside of your home to help cut down on the number of insects the geckos are eating. If geckos cannot find enough food they will either move on or starve. Eliminate as much clutter and debris around the outside of your home as possible to eliminate the places geckos like to hide. Rake back mulch or rocks at least 6 inches from the structure. If you need to get rid of the geckos that are already indoors the only options are catching them by hand or using glue boards placed in areas where the geckos travel.

    Q
How do you mix Delta Dust to kill bed bugs?
    A

Delta Dust is a ready-to-use product out of the container: it should not be mixed with water or anything else. Delta Dust and other insecticide dusts are best applied using a hand duster such as the B&G Bulb Duster 1150. You would apply in cracks and crevices such as under baseboards, in the joints of furniture, under box springs, etc. Please take a few moments to review our Bed Bug Treatment Guide which has more details on using dust and other recommended products to eradicate a bed bug infestation.

  • Asked by Lewis from North Charleston
    06/22/2018
    Q
When applying Delta dust to an attic area and crawl space area how long should you wait for the people to return?
    A

If Delta Dust Insecticide is just applied in the attic and not the living areas or areas where people frequent, then there are no time restrictions for re-entering the home.  When used inside living areas, it would only be applied to cracks and crevices and it is safe to return to areas once it has settled.  Typically just 30 minutes-1 hour is fine.

  • Asked by Jeremy from Morse, La
    08/09/2018
    Q
Can Delta Dust Insecticide be used in oak trees for carpenter ants?
    A

If you already have the Delta Dust Insecticide, you could certainly use that to dust the area the carpenter ants are coming in and out of along the tree. Any that walk through it will pick it up on their bodies and transfer it through the colony. However, if you have not yet purchased the Delta Dust, drenching the root zone, trunk and activity points of the tree with a product like Dominion 2L would likely provide a more thorough elimination of the carpenter ant colony in its entirety. You can also apply Maxforce Complete Granules around the trees and structure as well once the drenched areas are completely dry (when it is not raining also). Please take a few moments to review our treatment article/videos on How to Get Rid of Carpenter Ants for a successful eradication.

    Q
Does Delta Dust have a shelf life?
I purchased my product one year ago, and used some but not all of it. I would like to reapply more, however I am unsure whether the product is still good after sitting in it's original container unused for so long.
    A

The shelf life of Delta Dust Insecticide is 3 years form purchase date. The delta dust should still be effective, as long as it was properly stored in a dry moderate temperature area.
