    Q
Does Demand CS harm toads tree frog or lizards?
    A

Demand CS will not harm frogs or lizards if used per the labeled instructions.  You may notice a decline in the population, however, since the Demand CS is designed to eliminate the incests, which are their main food source.

    Q
Is it dangerous to remain in an area where Demand CS has been sprayed?
An exterminator came by today and began using Demand CS in my apartment, focusing on the baseboards, "for spiders." He mentioned it lasted some time but did not mention any vapors, or hazards. I stayed for some 10 to 20 minutes in the apartment as it dried, getting ready for class. Should I be concerned?
    A
In the future it would be wise for you to leave the treated area until the application of Demand CS has had a chance to dry to avoid accidentally contacting wet areas. Vapors are usually not a concern with water based insecticides that are sprayed on using a pump sprayer.

    Q
What is a good product to rotate with Demand CS?
I am looking to rotate another pesticide that does not use lambda-cyhalothrin. Demand CS has been wonderful but I do not want insects to build up a tolerance to it's active ingredient. Do you recommend another product that does not use lambda-cyhalothrin that I can rotate in with Demand CS?
    A
We do you could rotate Demand CS with Temprid Sc.  Temprid SC (suspension concentrate) insecticide offers a unique dual mode of action by combining two powerful and effective residual insecticides: beta-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid -

    Q
What harm does Demand CS cause when sprayed on garden plants and vegetables?
    A
Demand CS can be safely sprayed on most garden plants but absolutely cannot be used on edible vegetation. Since Demand CS has not been tested on edible vegetation and is not labeled for it, we do not know what effect it will have.

  • Asked by Leigh from Jackson, Al
    03/20/2013
    Q
Recommend a chemical for indoors and outdoors, preferably micro-encapsulated.
The trend in pest control seems to be exterior-only treatments. That sounds like a great way to cut down on the amount of chemicals inside the home. Do you know which chemicals are being used or could you recommend one? I'm leaning toward a microencapsulated type such as Demand CS. Will it hold up well outdoors and keep the bugs out? Thanks.
    A
Demand CS would be a great choice for general pest control. It will hold up well to UV rays and rain and because it is a micro-encapsulated it works a little bit like a time released formula.

  • Asked by Kelly from New Jersey

    Q
Can you mix Demand CS and Transport Mikron together for application?
    A
There is no valid reason to mix Transport Mikron and Demand CS together, it would not make either product work better or produce better results, though it could make treated areas repellent to insects which lessening the effectiveness of the treatment. You should choose one product, read the product label and follow it closely.

    Q
Can Demand CS be applied using the Solo 451 Sprayer?
I have noticed that Cy-Kick cannot, so I'm looking for a different insecticide.
    A

You can use either Cy-Kick CS or Demand CS in a Solo 451 Backpack Sprayer. For Demand CS, use 0.2 - 0.8 fl. oz. of concentrate per gallon of water or per 1,000 square feet. Keep in mind that a mist blower like the Solo will apply product very quickly, so be sure you are using correct use rates when applying product over large areas. You should also be sure to follow all label directions and precautions, such as applying when conditions are calm.

    Q
Can I grow anything in my vegetable garden if someone sprayed Demand CS at the foundation?
I have a small vegetable garden that surrounds the foundation of my house. Demand was inadvertently sprayed around the foundation. This years vegetables have already been pulled up. Will the earth be usable next year? Can I drench it out?
    A

We would recommend contacting the manufacturer of Demand CS directly to see if it would be advisable to plant anything in the area that was treated, or the best method to remove the product from the soil, if possible.  You can reach Syngenta at 866-796-4368.

    Q
How long will it take Demand CS to dry when applied inside for it to be safe for people to enter?
    A
How long it will take to dry will depend entirely on how heavily you sprayed the product and how well the air circulation in the home is. It could take 30 minutes up to 2 hours for a full dry time so keeping the people out of the home for at least 2 hours should be sufficient.

  • Asked by Thomas from Phoenix. Arizona
    05/01/2017
    Q
    Will Demand CS kill honeybees?
    A

Demand CS is not a selective insecticide and it will kill most insects that come into contact with the treated area, including bees.  Depending on what you are treating for, you may be able to use a product like Mavrik Perimeter for outdoor pests, which is non-repellent and non-toxic to honeybees after it has dried. You will want to read the product label to see if this fits your needs.

  • Asked by Mike from Phoenix, Az

    Q
Is there anything stronger than Demand CS for spider control?
I've been treating with Demand CS for years and have been generally happy with the results but this summer in particular, I've been having a rough time with some big spiders and I'm looking for something stronger. What is your recommendation?
    A
Demand CS is a pretty hardy product but if you are spraying porous surfaces it may be getting absorbed and in general may be less available to the intruding spiders. Demon WP is our most popular spider control product. Demon WP is a wettable powder insecticide that will stay on the surface of porous areas and may be easier for the spiders to contact. Be sure you are spraying outside around the foundation of your home, around door frames, window frames and any place where the spiders may gain entry indoors to stop these pests before they get inside.

  • Asked by Caroline from West Virginia
    09/27/2015
    Q
Does Demand CS NOT work for yellow jackets?
I'm wondering whether this is the wrong pesticide, or if the bottle I have is expired. Been spraying the stuff into place where many, many yellow jackets are entering and exiting (I think they must have a nest inside a pipe on the side of our house), as well as spraying directly on the insects, and it has zero effect. Scores of healthy yellow jackets before, during, and after spraying! I've never seen an insecticide sprayed directly on insects that didn't seem to affect them at all. Bewildered. Any suggestions?
    A

Demand CS should kill Yellow Jackets after they come in contact with it, however it is not specifically labeled for them. This would not be our number one recommendation for Yellow Jackets because it can take some time to kill them. Please check out our article "How to Get Rid of Yellow Jackets". If you can get to the openings where the yellow jackets are coming in and out from, we highly recommend applying a dust like Tempo 1% Dust and when the yellow jacket comes in contact with it, the dust will transfer from yellow jacket to yellow jacket and kill off the entire nest.

If I do a root drench with Lamba Cyhalothrin can my plants absorb it like Imidicloprid?

    Q
How do you get rid of Chinese Cockroaches?
We lived in the suburbs of North. Los Angeles. They are in our yard, streets, sidewalks, lawn, they are large and horrible. My husband has sprayed with bug killer in the surrounding areas of the house. The perimeter of the outside concrete walls at night in the morning he finds them dead. Then more come, so he is now using diozon to kill them, but they keep coming. We are not the only ones that have this problem. They are coming out the main sewer system. Is this a City problem? Your answer on this would be very much appreciated. Thank you
    A
I would recommend spraying Demand CS. It is an amazing general insecticide that can be broadcasted across your lawn. This product can also be used inside as well along the baseboards of your home and in cracks and crevices. Roaches do need water to survive so it's possible they live underground. I would call the Cooperative Extension in your area to find out for sure.
