    Q
    Does Demon Max cause staining?
    Have a scorpion problem in West Texas. Need a recommendation for oil based, long lasting product that does not stain as our home is adobe and want to apply outside and inside.
    A

    Demon Max is an oil based product labeled mostly for use outdoors, with labeling for cracks and crevices indoors.  Demon Max can cause staining because of the oil base that it contains.  If you are looking for scorpion control for your home you could use Demand CS, Cy-Kick CS or Onslaught FastCap.

  • Asked by Judith from Macon, Ga

    Q
    When spraying Demon Max on an entire wooden house for pests, do I need to sheet windows?
    Does Demon Max damage the window glass?
    A

    With the updated product label instructions on products such as Demon Max, you should not spray the entire house. We do suggest avoiding spraing the glass window panes as Demon Max is oil based and when oil based products can be hard to remove from glass, especially if the glass is hot. Below are the new label instructions for your convenience. Please be sure to read the entire product label for full instructions.

    All outdoor applications must be limited to spot or crack-andcrevice treatments only, except for the following permitted uses:
    1. Treatment to soil or vegetation around structures;
    2. Applications to lawns, turf, and other vegetation;
    3. Applications to building foundations, up to a maximum height of 3 feet above grade;
    4. Applications to underside of eaves, soffits, doors, or windows permanently protected from rainfall by a covering, overhang, awning, or other structure;
    5. Applications around potential pest entry points into buildings, when limited to a surface band not to exceed one inch in width;
    6. Applications made through the use of a coarse, lowpressure spray to only those portions of surfaces that are directly above bare soil, lawn, turf, mulch or other vegetation, as listed on this label, and not over an impervious surface, drainage or other condition that could result in
    runoff into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters, or surface waters, in order to control occasional invaders or aggregating pest.

    Q
    My renters left me with a bad flea infestation. How often do I need to apply Demon Max to kill all the fleas and eggs?
    A

    For residential lawns, apply Demon Max at the rate of 0.33-0.65 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft in a volume of water sufficient for uniform coverage such as 3-20 gallons of water. Please refer to the LAWN APPLICATION DILUTION TABLE on the product label as well as our Indoor Flea Kit to treat the inside of the home. Demon Max would not be used indoors for flea control.

  • Asked by Chris from Erlanger
    05/08/2018
    Q
    If I spray Demon Max on my deck and around the perimeter of the house will it stain?
    My house is brick painted white and my deck is painted a light brown. Where on a house is this not safe to spray? Thanks!
    A

    Due to Demon Max being an oil based product it has the potential to stain almost any surface depending on how pourous it is and how heavy it is applied. If you wish to use Demon Max we would highly suggest doing a small spot test first to make sure it wont stain or leave an undesirable residue on any surface you plan to treat. If you would like a water based product that would cover a wide range of insects and that wouldnt stain, you could go with something like Suspend SC

  • Asked by Roy from Fl

    Q
    Is Demon Max a contact kill?
    A

    While Demon Max can have some knock down properties, it is not considered a contact kill product. It is a residual insecticide that once dry will last on the surface 3-6 months indoors (although you would respray more frequently for an active infestation) and 30-60 days outdoors depending on how the elements effect it over time.

    Q
    Will Demon Max kill pine bark beetles???
    I have lost several very large pine trees on my two acres of property. When I see the saw dust around the base of the tree it's too late and the tree is already dead. I don't want to loose my trees as they provide an excellent wind break.
    A

    Yes, Demon Max is labeled for Borers and Bark Beetles: To prevent infestation of trees and woody ornamentals, spray the bark, thoroughly, but not to the point of run-off using a 0.1% Demon Max emulsion. The recommended mix rate of 0.1% Solution is 1/2 fl oz (1 Tbsp) per 1 gal water.

    Q
    Will Demon Max treat buffalo gnats (bull gnats)?
    A

    Demon Max is labeled for flies and should be applied 25 ft away from any bodies of water. It may only provide temporary relief for where the insect lands. For the Buffalo Gnat nest, you want something that will provide an instant knock down like CB- 80 aerosol.

  • Asked by Adam from Knoxville, Tn

    Q
    Which would be more effective at eradicating an indoor flea problem when combined with an IGR - Demon Max or Conquer?
    A

    Demon Max should not be applied indoors for flea treaments. Conquer can be applied with an IGR (such as Precor IGR or Archer IGR) for fleas indoors. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Fleas for a successful eradication program. We do offer an Indoor Flea Kit that can be applied to floor surfaces for treatment also.

    Q
    Which one works better on carpenter bees, Demon WP or Demon Max? How often should we spray?
    A

    For effective control, you should reapply Demon WP or Demon Max (they each contain the same active ingredient- WP will dry with a white film to surfaces treated) every 4 weeks through the carpenter bee season. Usually carpenter bees come twice a year, once in the spring and then again in early fall. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Carpenter Bees for a successful program.

  • Asked by Mike from Az
    02/13/2018
    Q
    Does Demon Max stand up to desert heat?
    Will it break down quickly like Bifen does under strong UV rays? Looking for an exterior product that will last at least 30 days under extreme 100+ degree heat.
    A

    It will be difficult for any product to last over 30 days in extreme heat and direct sunlight, however, we would recommend an encapsulated product for the longest residual. Demon Max has an oil base, while the Bifen IT is a water-based insecticide (Bifen XTS is oil-based). It may last a bit longer than Bifen IT, but would have similar residual to Bifen XTS. Great options for longer residual in more severe weather would be either Suspend Polyzone or Cyzmic CS.

  • Asked by Ken from Vacaville, California
    11/19/2017
    Q
    Can Demon Max be used around Chickens?
    I have treated my landscape cracks and crevices for cockroaches. This treatment produced hundreds of dead or dying bugs, which I have cleaned up. Would it be safe to allow our chickens to roam around again? My fear is they may still find a dead bug and eat it. Would this hurt them?
    A

    Demon Max is not labeled for use in poultry houses or animal grazing areas, so we would not recommend allowing birds in the area where it has been applied. A similar product that is labeled for use in poultry houses is Talstar P. Please review the SDS for Demon Max for toxicity information.
