Unfortunately, no Demon Max is not labeled for use on cows or any livestock or animals. You would need to use something like Martins Permethrin 10% which can be used on livestock.
For residential lawns, apply Demon Max at the rate of 0.33-0.65 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft in a volume of water sufficient for uniform coverage such as 3-20 gal for mole crickets. Use the lower rate to knock down pests and the higher rate where faster knockdown or greater residual is desired. The maximum application rate on lawns and other turfgrass is 0.44 lb ai/A (0.0101 lb ai/1,000 sq ft). Lawn should not be longer than 3 inches at the time of application. You can add a surfactant to the mixture for more effective results.
No Demon Max cannot be used in a garden or on edible vegetation.
The shelf life of Demon Max is 3-5 years if stored at room temperature and out of direct sunlight.
The active ingredient in Demox Max is Cypermethrin. Cypermethrin is in the synthetic pyrethroid class of insecticides. It is a man-made active ingredient that attacks the central nervous system of insects that come in contact with or ingest it.
Demon Max can be used on hibiscus and other flowering plants. You should apply in the early morning or in the evening (not in the heat of the day) to avoid any accidental burning of foliage.
The shelf life of Demon Max is 3-5 years if stored in an area that the temperature is moderated and it is dry.
Demon Max will provide approximately 30 days residual outdoors, and 90 days residual indoors. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
Yes, Demon Max will work for spiders, including black widows. Please take a look at our Spider Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing this pest.
Demon Max is safe for pets and humans once dry. As long as it has had at least 6 hours of dry time before rain or irrigation it wont be of any concern for pets if they go through an area that was sprayed that becomes wet.
Per the Demon Max product label for lawn and landscape pests such as Chinch Bugs, Mole Crickets, Fleas, and Ticks: Application in combination with compatible surfactants may enhance penetration. Otherwise one would not be needed.
Yes, Demon Max would be a good option for cicada killer wasps. The mixing rate is 1.3 fl oz per gallon of water. You will apply directly to the soil where the wasps are nesting.
Cicada Killer wasps thrive in disturbed environments, such as landscaped yards and places where bare soil is exposed. You can discourage the wasps from nesting in your yard by cutting your grass on the highest setting and by adding a thick layer of mulch to flower beds during the Cicada Killer Wasp season. These wasps do not like over saturated lawns either, so over watering during their season will help prevent them. Unfortunately, there is no fool proof way to prevent cicada killer wasps. For prevention you can try to use a granular insecticide such as Talstar PL Granules in the couple of weeks before this pest is known to emerge. For current infestations, you can also use Delta Dust in each individual burrow.
We also like to let our customers know that the Cicada Killer wasps are beneficial insects that provide free pest control for a couple months each year. Cicada killer wasps paralyze and provision their burrows with other insects to feed their young. The beneficial Cicada killer wasps, while large and intimidating to see, are mostly harmless and there have been very few reports of anyone getting stung by just being near them. In most cases where a sting was reported, the wasps were being held or molested in some way. Cicada Killer Wasp stings are also reported to be almost painless.
Demon Max is mixed at the rate of 1/2 - 1 oz for cockroaches. You may want to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing roaches.
Demon Max is a dark brown viscous liquid concentrate.
Demon Max cannot be used indoors or on carpeting. If you would like to give us more information about what pest(s) you need to treat, we will be happy to recommend an alternative product.
While Demon Max will kill most termites and spiders that contact it, this would not be our recommendation for termite control. Please see our Termite Guide. Demon Max can be applied indoors to cracks and crevices. Please be aware since it's oil based it may leave an oily residue. You can always treat indoors. Outdoors, if the ground is frozen, or temps are below freezing or around freezing, it may be best to wait.
Demon Max will kill leaf cutter ants that are directly contacted with the spray but will have no result on the ants that stay in the nest. Leaf cutter ants can be a difficult pest to get rid of. The colonies are large and the ants make their own food so poison baits only have limited effects on this species of ants. According to several university websites MaxForce Ant Bait Granules containing hydramethlynon are somewhat effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times. DeltaGard Granules are one of the only products actually labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mounds directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again, it may take several treatments to get the desired results. We also recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see if they have any recommendations for products that have worked for other people in your region.
Demon Max will kill most species of cockroaches, including German cockroaches. Please take a look at our Roach Control Guide for more information on doing a complete roach treatment.
The maximum rate for general insects using Demon Max is 1 oz per gallon of water, per the product label, depending on the target pest. It is only used at 5.1 fl oz per gallon for a 1% emulsion for maximum control and protection against subterranean termite infestation.
