Demon WP Insecticide - Questions & Answers

Demon WP is not actually labeled for Japanese beetles though Japanese Beetles that land on treated surfaces will most likely be effected. We do recommend that you choose a product that is labeled for Japanese Beetles such as Talstar P for best results.

Demon WP is labeled for flea control in outdoor settings and will do a great job killing them when used as directed on the Demon WP product label.

Demon WP is a great choice for spider control. Demon WP is a wettable powder that is diluted in water, and then sprayed around door frames, window frames, in areas where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into a structure, around the bottom of the foundation and other area where insects are known to harbor. Demon WP will also eliminate the other insects in the area which in turn will help discourage other spiders from moving in since they will not have a food source to rely on.  Demon WP can leave a white powdery residue on dark surfaces. If the powdery residue is a concern you can choose a micro-encapsulated product such as Onslaught.

Demon Wp is one of the strongest products still left on the market.  That being said it will not kill immediately once dry after a spider walks over it.  Spiders are especially hard to kill because their main bodies are up off of the ground and they do not groom their legs like other insects.  There is no product that will kill very quickly, within minutes, after it is dry.  Only contact kill products, aerosols mainly that are sprayed directly on a spider, like Raid, will kill it that fast.  Demon is still considered the best residual product for spiders.

The small diluted amount of Demon WP that is left on grass after an application has dried should pose no threat to your dog even if he eats a bit of grass that has been treated.

Talstar P and Demon WP are both synthetic pyrethroid products and work in a very similar way. The key difference here would be that the Demon WP is a wettable powder and as such it is able to stay on the surface of porous areas allowing insects to come in contact with it a bit better. That being said Demon WP also leaves behind a white powdery residue that is visible on dark surfaces. Talstar P is a concentrated liquid that is odorless, dries clear and is labeled for a huge variety of insects (including roaches) and areas making it a bit more versatile.

Since Demon WP is not labeled for use on edible vegetation it should not be used on melons at any point. These products should not be mixed together. There is no valid reason to mix Demon WP/Cyper WP and Talstar P/Bifen IT together.  Talstar P/Bifen IT is a synthetic pyrethroid and Demom WP/Cyper WP already contains a synthetic pyrethroid, so there would be nothing to gain by mixing these products together. Making a pesticide too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation.

Each water soluble packet equals .33 oz of Demon which is the equivalent of 1 scoop of Demon from the 1 lb jar. If you use the 1 scoop per gallon usage rate you can make 48 gallons of solution.

The dogs and the birds should be removed from the area prior to treatment with Demon WP and they can safely re-enter the treated areas as soon as they are dry. Please refer to the Demon WP product label for complete usage instructions.

Demon WP CANNOT be used on animals of any kind. We do carry spot on flea and tick called Prefurred products if needed.

You should definitely be using an insecticide spray to stop new roaches from moving in. Demon WP is one our most popular roach control sprays. You can also caulk all of the cracks and crevices around the baseboards, door frames, window frames and places where cables pipes and wires enter through the walls to block the passage of roaches from your neighbors apartment into your apartment.

Demon WP will kill roaches but it will not kill roach eggs. Insecticides will only kill insects after they have hatched from the eggs. Insecticides cannot penetrate the egg shells. We would recommend using an Insect Growth Regulator such as Gentrol IGR along with the Demon WP as it can make some of the eggs non-viable and it will halt the reproduction of the juvenile roaches.

Demon WP can be applied indoors using a hand pump sprayer. Apply directly into cracks and crevices around the door frames, window frames, places where utilities (cables, pipes and wires) enter into the structure and around the baseboards

Demon WP should be used with 24 hours after it has been diluted with water. There are a couple of reasons for this 1. insecticides will start to degrade if they are left standing in water because of the acid in water 2. Demon WP never truly dissolves in water and it will separate and clog your sprayer. You should also note that leaving liquids standing in your sprayer will void the warranty of most sprayers as most chemicals and even water will corrode the tank, seals and other sprayer parts when sprayer is not properly rinsed between uses.

Demon WP is not labeled for bedbugs. We offer bedbug kits that contain all of the different products you need to eliminate bedbugs and re-treatments should be done every 7-10 days until you do not receive a bite for 30 days.  We also highly recommend using mattress and boxspring encasements to help eliminate bedbug infestations. Demon WP is not recommended for bird/rodent mites because it is not labeled for mites and also because it can not be broadcast sprayed. Below you will find out best recommendations for bird/rodent mites control:

It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with bird mites. Have the suspected bird mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for bird mites.  If you do indeed have bird mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead bird on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

You can use them all at once.The Maxforce Magnum should be applied by placing one small pea sized dot every 10-12 inches directly into cracks and crevices around counters, sinks, drawers and cabinets. You should use one Gentrol Point Source disc for every 75 sq ft of space. In order to know how many discs you should use you would need to know the square footage of the room (multiply the length of the room by the width of the room) (If you have the Gentrol Liquid you can mix it in the same gallon of water as the Demon and spray them together indoors). Demon WP should be sprayed outdoors around door frames, window frames, in areas where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure, around the bottom of the foundation and other areas where insects are known to harbor. Inside you should apply Demon WP along baseboards, in cracks and crevices,under appliances, around door frames, window frames and in areas where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure.

You can indeed use 2 packets of Demon WP per gallon of water for indoor/outdoor insect control. You can use the Demand CS one month from the date you applied the Demon WP.

Demon WP will do a great job getting rid of the brown stink bugs that land on treated surfaces.
