I have been trying to get rid of my drain fly situation for the last three years with no results. I found your site and gave it a try as nothing has worked so far. It has been a month since the application was applied in the two affected drains and there has been no more drain flies. Usually the flies return after two weeks, so I am declaring the flies are gone. Thanks so much for creating a real destroyer of these aggravating flies.

Had drain flies coming out of a basement drain. Poured it in as directed along with re-treatments as recommended. Haven't seen a drain fly since.

We bought a house in the south and soon as it was warm they came out everywhere! I tried everything and found this online and thought I'd try it... It took the full use to finally get rid of them, and I am beyond happy!!! I am going to buy more to keep my drains maintained so I never have to go through these disgusting bugs again!

I received the DF 5000 very quickly. It worked very well. However, it did not get rid of the drain flies completely, but did dramatically reduce the problem. I had since ordered two more bottles and expect them to come any day now. With these two bottles, I expect the problem to be totally eliminated. I will probably order another two bottles after this order to use for maintenance once in a while. All in all, this is a very good product.

This stuff is not cheap but it works. I've used it to get rid of drain flies a few different times in two different houses I've owned, and it has gotten rid of them.

I don't want to jinx it by writing this review because the moment I post it I'm sure the drain flies will return. I bought four bottles initially, and did not buy the kit with the glue boards. I am assuming ALL drains in my 57 year old house are infected with these pests. We have two floors, two bathrooms, a laundry sink and a main drain and we are treating the downstairs bathroom tub and sink and the kitchen sink because we believe those are the offending drains as that is where we are seeing the majority of the flies. After doing some reasearch on these flies, turns out they breed and feed on the sludge/organic stuff inside the drains. Once the flies hatch and fly out of the drain, they have about a 48-72 hour life span. They do not go back into the drains once they've flown out. They mate/lay eggs before leaving the drain. Anyone who's seen these things fly KNOWS that they couldn't find their way back to the drain even if they had a GPS and a map. We have had this fly problem for several years now and just "dealt" with it. Now they are pestering us during dinner, they fly in front of the computer screen or the t.v., we've found them in the fridge, and several dead ones every week in the window sills. Over a year ago we tried the Invade Hot Shot which is a foam that you spray at night into the drains. Initially we thought it was working but on day 3 we had even more flies than before. We kept up with the foam but it never worked and for the $120 I spent on it, I was not happy. Finally we had had enough and before calling a pest control, I decided to give the internet another shot. I found the DF5000, read every single review, and decided to try 4 bottles at first. The product came very quickly, within 5 days so I'm glad I didn't opt for the Express 3-5 day shipping for an additional $15. We started applying it to all 6 drains on a Friday night. Then I realized that we would go through all 4 bottles awfully quickly if I treated all the drains. So, I decided to treat the ones that we were SURE had a problem, the downstairs bathroom drains and the kitchen sink drain. Today is Tuesday, we started last Friday (4 days ago) and between my husband and I we've only seen/killed TWO flies in that time. I'm amazed. I had vacuumed out all the window sills before treating so that I could see at the end of the first week if any new flies died there. I'm ordering a case of DF5000 today so that I can continue to eliminate this problem and wittle it down to a once a month treatment. I sincerely HOPE this works for good because I detested sharing my entire house with these disgusting pests.

We've suffered from drain flies for years, took us a while to figure out what they were, and then how to get rid of them. We tried everything from snaking the drain to pouring bleach and boiling water down each drain, and then the Invade Hot Shot foam. None of that worked. As a last straw before calling pest control for considerably more $$$, I searched the internet again and found reviews and product info for DF5000. I bought and tried 4 bottles of DF5000. By the 3rd day of treatment we were able to count the flies we saw on ONE hand. The first 4 bottles didn't get us quite through the first week because I was treating 7 drains in the house just to be thorough, so I purchased the case after seeing marked improvement the first 3 or 4 days. Completing the first week of drain treatment, the flies were GONE. No dead ones in the window sills, none in the bathroom, kitchen or flying in front of the t.v. or computer screen. Now we are treating each drain once a week for a couple of weeks and then we will treat each drain monthly. I cannot believe how well this worked. I cannot believe how long (years) we've lived with this problem only to find out this gel will eliminate their breeding ground. We are THRILLED with the product and the results. And the process could not have been easier. Thank you DoMyOwnPestControl! We no longer have to share our house with these pests!

I was having major drain flies issues, the buggers would just keep coming. I tried bleach, hot water, and some other sprays. Nothing helped. After doing some research, I read that drain flies can swim through the p-trap. This product not only removes what the drain flies eat but also creates a thick cover to block the flies from coming up. This is the only product I found to work. When your completely sick of those annoying flies, try this product.

i had a severe drain fly problem had worked on it for days, finally ordered this fly gel, and it worked the first day - then followed directions to treat daily... would highly recommend. Has a good odor to it - actually really doesnt have a smell. Money well spent, will recommend and purchase again, if needed.

Awesome stuff! We were inundated with drain flies and tried several ways to try to get rid of them. After the first day, they were gone! I plan on using it monthly to keep them away.

Don't forget the overflows on your draining places! I thought I had covered all the possible sites, but then discovered that I hadn't covered the bathtub overflow site!

I started using this about two years ago. The first year I started using it in September. I saw an immediate reduction of the drain flies but I didn't know if it was the time of the year or the DF5000. So This year I tried it again and on que their was an immediate reduction. I really enjoy it and so far very happy with it.

It cleans out the drains so the bugs do not have a place to lay their eggs. The other side benift is it takes the smell out of the pipes. Oh the best thing is the swarms of fly's. Will buy again, it is worth the money.

Totally worth the investment. I was fighting these little bugs and just couldnt get rid of them. I carried a bottle of windex and would spray them in flight and they would drop. Using the DF5000 was a whole lot easier and simpler. Just put it in the drain like the directions say, and after 3 days they were gone.

I recently purchased the product DF 5000 Drain Fly Gel, in hopes of ridding my bathroom these pests. This was my last resort before having to call in a professional. While, our bathroom was not completely overwhelmed by these pests. The 2-4 pests that emerged every day or so, WERE quite annoying. Once I received DF 5000 Drain Fly Gel in the mail, I began using it the following morning and for 5 straight morning, I poured 4 oz down the drain of my shower. The first four days, the pest kept coming as useful. HOWEVER, on the 5th day (following treatment), I saw no drain flies. I was COMPLETELY AMAZED, however I was somewhat unsure is this problem was completed resolved or if this was some temporary reprieve. However, I can CONFIDENTLY CONFIRM, I have NOT seen any drain flies in over month! THIS PRODUCT WORKS

I live in the garden-level unit of a three story condo building, and had 1-2 drain flies per day in my bathroom. Even when our pest control company came out monthly and sprayed in the bathroom, the flies would remain so I finally tried DF5000. No more flies! It's been approx 3 weeks, so will do a monthly application (in the shower, sink and bathtub in the master bathroom, where the flies were originating).

I purchased this product on the advice of my exterminator. We don't have a basement in our home and it's over 60 years old, so we have problems in the summer with these drain flies. So far, so good with the use of this product -- I'll continue with it through the summer. Now, what's the solution for pavement ants?!!

Now even though I still ended up having to replace a pipe that was filled with grease (where these suckers breed) I used this about 3 weeks before to try to maintain the situation. It worked extremely well that I was almost thinking about canceling to get the pipe replaced haha.
