Barricade and Dimension are actually in the same class of herbicides which means they work with the same mode of action for most of the same weeds and there would be no benefit to using each so close together. It is more recommended to rotate each season between different actives to prevent resistance buildup. Typically Dimension is more recommended in the spring as it is best for crabgrass and has early post emergent control of it as well (in a separate application). Using the max rate in one season would prevent you from using either in the fall which is also a recommended time for pre-emergent applications for winter/spring weeds.
We would not recommend applying herbicides such as Dimension 2EW Herbicide during active precipitation or after rainfall. The manufacturer recommends to water this product in within 24 hours after application, so it would be best if you apply it the day before rain is expected again if you do not manually water the product in for pre-emergent applications.
Yes, if you have used the maximum rate of prodiamine for the year you may use Dimension 2EW Herbicide since they are two different actives. You can either spot treat or blanket spray. We would recommend blanket spraying as it would give you better results for pre-emergent control.
As long as they are established, Dimension 2EW Herbicide is safe for use.
Dimension 2EW Herbicide is labeled for brome prior to germination when used as directed.
Dimension 2EW Herbicide can safely be applied to both cool season and warm season turf.
Dimension 2EW Herbicide is not labeled to prevent growth of rescue grass. If you need a pre-emergent you may consider Barricade 4FL Pre-Emergent Herbicide (Prodiamine). Keep in mind pre-emergents will only prevent the germination of the weed in question, will not control it once it has germinated
While Dimension 2EW Herbicide could be mixed with Drive XLR8 it is not recommended. A pre-emergent will only work in the fall once soil temperatures are below 70 degrees & in the spring when temperatures are below 55 degrees. Post-emergents will work before soil temps drop below 70 in the fall & once above 55 in the spring. Generally, the soil temps do not align to apply both products together
Yes, Dimension 2EW Herbicide is a pre-emergent herbicide mixed with water as directed and applied at the appropriate time in spring or fall prior to weed germination. If targeting young, actively growing crabgrass, it is mixed with water and a nonionic surfactant for selective post-control.
Water is just a medium, you will need to calibrate your sprayer to determine how much water is needed to treat a 1,000 square foot area. This video may be useful: https://youtu.be/oMAZxkiEJFE. The usage rate for Dimension 2EW is 0.73 oz per 1,000 square feet.
Once mixed with water, Dimension 2EW Herbicide must be applied within 24 hours.
The shelf life of the product in the original bottle is about 3 years when stored in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures.Dimension 2EW Herbicide and fertilizer can be applied at the same time. There is no wait period.
