    Q
What is the actual difference between Diphacinone (Ditrac) and the principal ingredient in Contrac?
I live in the woods, and do NOT want to attract chipmunks to the bait stations. I do NOT have rats, only a steady supply of field mice who I prefer not to share the inside of my home with me. The company I have been using has gone out of business, so I can no longer purchase Ditrac from them. Would Contrac be "safer" for the chipmunk population? I'm out of Ditrac and need to start something in my bait stations very very soon..... My bait stations resemble your Protecta Rat station, but mine have 2 locks and a plastic key. Would I be better off using a station with a smaller hole? All of my stations are outdoors, but outside of the fenced area where my dogs play.
    A

Both Ditrac Blox and the Contrac Blox are anticoagulants but Ditrac is a multi-feed rodenticide (rodents would have to feed multiple times to build up a lethal dose) and Contrac is a single feed rodenticide (rodents usually obtain a lethal dose in just one feeding). Unfortunately, there is no way to…

    Q
The rats are not eating the Ditrac All-Weather Blox.
I put this poison out in a Protecta box a couple of weeks ago. I just checked on the box and the bait is untouched. How can I attract the rats to the poison?
    A

It is possible that the rats are not attracted to the Ditrac All Weather Blox because there is another food source available to them. We would recommend removing any type of food items (pet food possibly) and/or moving trash to another area. We would also recommend inspecting your home for areas tha…

    Q
Why is Ditrac not available in NY but Contrac is? Which is better?
    A

Ditrac actually is available for sale to New York.  We fixed this error on our website saying it was not available.  Ditrac is the slower acting of the the two (Ditrac & Contrac).  Contrac blox are by far the most popular and what we sell the most of.  They work great and rar…

    Q
Do the blocks have a hole through them for wire hanging?
    A

A hole in the center of each block allows it to be placed on bait securing rods in bait stations, or nail or wire it in place.

  • Asked by James from Olympia, Wa

    Q
Will Ditrac All-Weather Blox make my cat sick if he eats the rat?
    A

There is not very much of the active ingredient in each block of Ditrac All Weather Blox when a rat consumes it. A cat would have to either more than their body weight to be affected by the poison. Ditrac and other rodenticides should be stored out of reach of pets and children and used in tamper-re…

    Q
The slugs and snails keep eating my Ditrac. It doesn't kill them so they just hang out in the bait box eating. How can I stop this?
    A

You can use a bait like Monterey Sluggo Plus around the stations to help treat the slugs and snails and attract them away from the Ditrac All-Weather Blox.

  • Asked by Joe from Reno

    Q
Is Ditrac All-Weather Blox Rodenticide pet friendly?
My dog eats everything so what would happen if we were to get into the bait.
    A

Rodenticide baits including Ditrac All-Weather Blox Rodenticide should always be used in tamper resistant bait stations to prevent non target animals and children from accessing the bait as it can be toxic if consumed. Always keep rodent bait stored out of reach of kids and where pets can access th…

  • Asked by Paul from Chino, California
    02/17/2023
    Q
How many rats will one block of Ditrac kill? Is it one rat per block?
    A

This would depend on the rat's size, weight, overall health, and a few other factors. Ditrac is an anticoagulant and a multi-feed rodenticide (rodents would have to feed multiple times to build up a lethal dose).

    Q
    Ditrac in California
Will there be a product that replaces ditrac in California in 2024?
    A

There will not be a direct replacement for any Diphacinone ingredient baits in California after this recent law change they initiated last week. Baits with acute kills such as Fastrac and Take Down, as well as baits with older anticoagulant ingredients such as Warfarin found in Kaput, will be the al…

  • Asked by Lou from Houston, Texas
    02/17/2024
    Q
Use in garage and how often to replace.
Am I required by law to place blocks in bait stations in my garage (I live in Texas)? I do not have pets or young children. I know it’s suggested, but is it required? I have two bait stations for outside use. My rat/mice problem is now gone and I haven’t had any rodent activity in over two months. So how often should I replace bait that is not being eaten?
    A

You can stop using Ditrac All-Weather Blox Rodenticide entirely if you have gone more than 15 days without activity. You may use the bait again if you start seeing activity again. In all states the bait should be used inside a tamper resistant bait station. The station not only protects non target a…
