While the Maxforce Refillable Buffet Stations state they can be used indoors or outdoors, they are not weighted or designed to be used in areas where they could easily be swept away by wind or water. You'd want to have them either nestled between some mulch or pine straw under near plants if you have ants trailing or nesting within/under those areas for instance, or on more covered areas like patios and porches.
