Does Dimension 2EW require a surfactant?

The directions say ounces is that weight or volume measure? I assume volume because we are dealing with a liquid but I thought id ask to be sure. Also, would I apply Dimension with a surfactant? Can you recommend a fan-pattern nozzle to apply Dimension? I am uncertain what rate per minute is best for applying herbicides on lawns (I only use my sprayer on my lawn)

Answer:

In general an ounce of liquid is a measure of volume and an ounce of a solid is a measure of weight. Unless using Dimension 2EW for less than 5 tiller stage crabgrass as a post emergent, you would not mix a surfactant with the solution. As a pre emergent, you want the product to be carried to the soil rather than stick to the leaf blade surface to prevent weed seeds.  Most nozzels are only compatable with the same manufacturer as the sprayers and since I am not sure what Brand and model sprayer you have I am unable to recommend a suitable fan spray nozzel. Also, herbicides do not give a water amount.  They only tell you how much of the product to apply over 1000 square feet.  The amount of water is dependent on how ever much water it takes for you to walk 1000 square feet.  Whether you place the amount of product per 1000 square feet in a gallon of water or 10 gallons of water, it does not matter, just as long as that amount of product is distributed over the 1000 square feet.
