Answer:

A tip shut-off helps when handling jobs where you do not want any product to leak from the wand. If your sprayer has no tip shut-off (such as the B&G Sprayer 2 Gallon 18 in. Wand & XR Valve (N200-S)), then whatever is left in the wand once you release the valve will come dripping out - the wand shuts off at the valve and not the tip. If you would prefer a sprayer with a tip shut-off the B&G Sprayer 1 Gallon 18 in. Wand & Extenda-Ban Valve (N124-CC-18) is a good choice.
