We recommend waiting a window of at least 24 hours, before or after an application of Dominion 2L Termiticide, to water your lawn.
People and pets should stay out of the treated area until the application of Dominion 2L Termiticide has completely dried. This usually takes anwhere from 1 to 3 hours.
You should not apply any termiticide, including Dominion when it is below freezing or when temperatures are above 80 degrees. We suggest treatment in the morning or late in the evening when rainfall is not expected the day of and the day following application.
For a pre construction slab application, you will apply one gallon of mixed solution per 10 sq ft area. Dominion 2L Termiticide is applied at 0.6 fl oz per gallon.
You can dispose Dominion 2L Termiticide by pouring it alongside of the foundation of your home.
Dominion 2L is a professional-grade product so has a higher percentage of active ingredient. The Bayer/Bio Advanced line is their consumer so it would not have a higher percentage available in this line. They have the Merit 2F for their pro line which Dominion is a generic version of. Granules require a higher percentage of active ingredient as they do not cover the entire area, granules are spaced on the ground in more concentrated amounts while a liquid that would be better able to get down into the soil for the roots to absorb and is more thoroughly applied over the area. Granule systems are really only good for shallow roots trees/shrubs as their feeder roots are closer to the surface.
Dominion 2L Termiticide Concentrate is not labeled for use on potted plants. Bonide Systemic Insecticide Granules would be a better option. This product will provide up to 8 weeks of control and has the same active ingredient as Dominion 2L.
If you are seeking a pre-treat prior to concrete being poured, Dominion 2L Termiticide is applied at one gallon every 10 sq ft. Some of our customers also use a 5 gallon bucket and pour the 5 gallons over 50 square foot sections which will be much faster than using a hand pump sprayer which comes out slowly. It is very important to apply more around the perimeter edges of the slab, around plumbing pipes that will come through the slab, and along expansion joints if you know where they will be. Since these are the more likely entry points of termites you want to make sure you treat more heavily around these areas. You should take general precautions when applying any product which would be to wear gloves, protect your eyes if it is windy, and treat only in the designated area where your slab will be poured.
Dominion 2L would not work for elm bark beetles as it would not reach to the areas of the trees these beetles infest. Effective treatment involves killing the beetles before they bore into bark in fall and when they first emerge in spring so protecting healthy trees is best. Timing is critical to reach the pests before they're under the protective bark. You can use a product like Permethrin SFR for this.

In Louisiana you are limited due to the high water tables and constant risk of flooding from hurricanes and other weather patterns there is too much risk for most products such as Dominion 2L Termiticide to move and contaminate drinking water or water where aquatic life would be found. Phantom Termiticide is the lowest risk option
Dominion 2L Termiticide is not labeled for use in containerized plants at all, so it could not be applied to your roses in pots. You could use a granule such as Hi-Yield Systemic Granules for containerized plants. For a 16 inch pot, you would apply 1/2 C of granules and apply at the first sign of insect activity and at 8 week intervals during the growing season. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.
Dominion 2L Termiticide is not labeled to treat for termites in your lawn, but you could consider treating your lawn and landscaped areas and around the exterior perimeter of your home with Talstar P, which is labeled for over 75 different insects, including swarming termites.
When used as directed on the product label, Dominion 2L will not harm your trees or plants. We would recommend getting a positive identification of what you are treating to ensure that you are using the correct product.
Based on the information you have given, the ratio should be (2) 3-gallon buckets of mixed Dominion 2L Termiticide. If you need any further reference, here is the product label with exact mixing instructions linked below.

Dominion 2L can be used for a variety of boring beetles in trees, but whether or not the product will impact the type of beetle you have will depend on the species. If you do not know what type of beetle species is boring into the trees on your property, you'd want to work with someone locally through a nursery or arborist to help ID what is damaging them to ensure the correct product and method of application is being used.
