Durvet DuraFend 0.5% Multi-Species Medicated Dewormer is an excellent anthelmintic for use in a wide range of animals. Contains fenbendazole as its active ingredient which works best against gastrointestinal parasites. It is ideal to use in horses, dairy and beef cattle, and zoo and wildlife animals. The Durvet DuraFend 0.5% Multi-Species Medicated Dewormer eliminates and controls worms such as intestinal worms, stomach worms, lungworms, and bankrupt worms. It comes in a pellet formula that can be blended with animal feed or used as a top dress.  Easy to administer and is fast-acting. Proven safe to use for dairy cattle because there is no milk withdrawal period. For safety, it is highly suggested to avoid slaughtering cattle 13 days after the last treatment. For wildlife, do not administer 14 days prior to or during the hunting season.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS - Enclosed scoop measures 8 oz.

CATTLE - DAIRY AND BEEF: 5 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight in a ONE (1) DAY treatment (2.27 mg fenbendazole per pound of bodyweight). Example: 1000 lb. cattle should receive 1 lb. of DuraFend 0.5% in one (1) day. Feed as the sole ration or top dress for one day. No prior withdrawal of feed or water necessary. Under conditions of continued exposure to parasites, retreatment may be needed after 4-6 weeks.

HORSES: For large strongyles, small strongyles and pinworms, the recommended dose is 5 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight (2.27 mg fenbendazole per pound) in a ONE (1) DAY treatment. Example: a 1000-lb horse should receive 1.0 pounds of DuraFend 0.5% in a ONE (1) DAY treatment. For ascarids, the recommended dose is 10 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight (4.54 mg fenbendazole per pound) in a ONE (1) DAY treatment. Example: a 1000-lb horse should receive 2.0 pounds of DuraFend 0.5% in a ONE (1) DAY treatment. All horses must be eating normally to ensure that each animal consumes an adequate amount of medicated feed. Regular deworming at intervals of 6 to 8 weeks may be required due to the possibility of reinfection. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism.

ZOO AND WILDLIFE ANIMALS - Big Horn Sheep: 10 mg fenbendazole per kg of body weight per day, times (x) 3 days of treatment. Feral Swine: 3 mg fenbendazole per kg of body weight per day, times (x) 3 days of treatment. Ruminants (subfamilies antilopinae, hippotraginae and caprinae): 2.5 mg fenbendazole per kg of body weight per day, times (x) 3 days of treatment. Example: 250 lb Feral Swine should receive 0.15 lbs. of DuraFend 0.5% per day for 3 days. It is recommended that the user exercise judgmental expertise as needed for retreatment within six (6) weeks. This would depend upon the conditions of treated animals and ambient temperatures. Once correct proportions of DuraFend 0.5% and feed ingredients have been established and blended, use as complete feed.
