    Q
Can I use FenvaStar EcoCap inside my cabinets containing my cookware, dishes and unopened food?
Unopened foods (canned goods, dry goods in a sealed plastic container, etc. *For ant and roach control*
    A

We do not recommend applying FenvaStar EcoCap inside the cabintes where you store your cookware, dishes and food. We recommend that you apply the product along the baseboards and cracks and crevices. You should bait for ants and roaches in the cabinets where these items are stored. Baiting in addtion to your spray application will offer better control and effective eradication of the insects. Please click on the links below for more information on baiting for ants and roaches.

    Q
How does FenvaStar Eco Cap compare Transport Micron or Tempo SC Ultra as a spray for bedbugs?
    A

FenvaStar EcoCap and Transport Mikron are labeled for bedbugs. They all have different active ingredients. Tempo SC Ultra is not labeled to kill bed bugs. Our bedbug kits come with all top of the line products that are available on the market today, along with instructions to follow. Q
Is FenvaStar EcoCap a non-repellent to bedbugs?
    A

FenvaStar EcoCap, while considered a repellent, will only be slightly repellent for a short time after application.  Insects can still contact a treated area even after detecting it, though as it is not a true repellent and is meant to provide a long residual to continue to kill insects after the application has dried.

    Q
What is the difference between diatomaceous earth and Fenvastar EcoCap?
    A

FenvaStar EcoCap is a microencapsulated product containing Esfenvalerate (3.5%). Featuring the EcoCap technology FenvaStar EcoCap is made using a renewable vegetable oil instead of petroleum resulting in almost no odor and no VOCs. This enviromentally responsible pest control product will still quickly knockdown pests including ants, bedbugs, roaches, mosquitoes, stinkbugs, fleas, stinging insects, flies, stored product insects, and a variety of other plant and structural pests (see label for full details).

FenvaStar EcoCap is labeled for use both indoors and outdoors, in food and non-food areas, animal premises, turf, and structural uses (see label for full details). FenvaStar EcoCap demonstrates exceptional residual and knockdown activity even when exposed to sunshine and rain.

Diatomaceous Earth dust works by causing abrasions on insects as they come into contact with product or ingest it. This contact results in the loss of body fluids then dehydration. Insects cannot become immune to its action. Digestible by earthworms, thus causing them no harm. Very effective in controlling snails and slugs in bedding plant areas and around houses. Diatomaceous Earth is odorless, nonstaining and remains effective in the control of insects as long as the product is present.

    Q
Can you mix FenvaStar EcoCap and Bifen IT together for chiggers?
    A

You would only chose FenvaStar EcoCap or Bifen IT to treat for chiggers. Using both will not make the application more effective. In fact, using multiple products may provide the opposite of the intended results.

    Q
Is my Carpet Beetle treatment working?
Since the discovery of my carpet beetle infestation, a little over a month ago, I have been treating every 2 weeks with Fenvastar with IGR added to it. I've sprayed, vacuumed, inspected, & ripped apart EVERY part of my home. When I 1st began treatment I found beetles, larvae & lots & lots of cast skins but since then I haven't really found any of that except for 2/3 beetles the day before my 2nd treatment & 3 beetles the day I did the 3rd treatment. But the damage to my furniture, rugs & clothing have absolutely skyrocketed!! At first I thought it was because I was just more aware of the whole situation so that's why I was noticing it more, but now that I just finished my 3rd treatment (& have trimmed/cleaned up the damaged things along the way) I am still finding all new damage but with NO evidence of any larvae. Am I missing something/somewhere while treating? (Keep in mind I have vacuumed & sprayed every possible place I read where they like to go & any other places I can think of (Their cast skins were in some pretty strange places).. Including inside all upholstered furniture, mattress & box spring & underneath all rugs) Or is this normal? & if so when can I expect to finally get some relief from these pests? I am afraid to let ANYTHING out of a plastic bag or sealed container. And it seems that no item (natural or synthetic) is safe. There is visible damage to everything and anything. I vacuum thoroughly every single day and have washed & dried every article of clothing I own at least a dozen times. I am physically & mentally exhausted! I've found hundreds of articles & information online about carpet beetle identification, treatment & control but nothing about what to expect before, during and after.... Am I doing it all wrong or does this sound like a typical infestation that will be fixed with time?? Also I recently read somewhere that if you wash your clothes w/Borax & the larvae eat it they will die... is there any truth to this because I saw 1 lonely article about it & that was it. Thank you sooo much for ANY help you can lend to ending this nightmare!
    A
It does not sound like you are doing anything wrong. It does take quite some time to fully eradicate carpet beetles. This is because the life cycle has to be stopped. That is done through the efforts you are making vacuuming daily, treating every two weeks, using an IGR. Alot of times if items are too infested or damaged, it requires discarding those items to help eradicate the beetles. You may also want to think about using a dust like Delta Dust to apply in wall voids such as outlets, light switches, cracks and crevices, where a liquid cannot be used. We recommend to keep checking to see if you are missing larvae somewhere. Check in corners of drawers, closets, if your carpet can be pulled up at the corner check there. Q
Can I spray FenvaStar EcoCap in my heat ducts?
I bought the bedbug kit and have been using it for over a month. Everything was taken out of the house to the bare floors and now I'm seeing bed bugs again. Thought maybe they are coming thru the heat ducts. Can I spray in there?
    A

FenvaStar EcoCap should NOT be applied inside heat ducts or other ventilation areas. It should only be applied to the cracks and crevices and listed areas on the product label. We do not offer bedbug products or other products labeled for use in the ducts. It could take a more than a month, multiple products and multiple applications to treat for bedbugs. Please take a few moments to review our article/videos on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs for a successful eradication.

  • Asked by Corey from Nj

    Q
How long after applying FenvaStar EcoCap can I mop or steam my hardwood floors?
My husband and I sprayed for fleas last night. The floors are dry but we have noticed some white spots on the floor particularly in one room we sprayed. I'm assuming that we sprayed a little too heavily in that room. Is this a problem and can we wet mop or steam the floor or will this either make the product inactive or will I make the floor unsafe to walk on again while wet? Thank you so much for your time.
    A

FenvaStar EcoCap is rain/water fast after it has dried completely. You can mop after 24 hours, but a steam cleaner likely will take the product up and you will need to re-apply.

  • Asked by Hector from San Juan, Pr

    Q
    Will Fenvastar EcoCap kill moths?
I've tried traps, and they have not eradicated the product
    A

Yes, Fenvastar EcoCap is labeled for moths. This is a crack, crevice and baseboard spray. You will use 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This can be used every 90 days indoors.

Also, it is important to know when using traps for moths, you will need to make sure you are only using two total traps in your home at a time. If you are using more than two traps at a time, the moths become confused and do not enter the traps.

  • Asked by Dan from Bronx, N.y.
    10/09/2013
    Q
Is FenvaStar EcoCap very effective on backyard mosquito infestation?
    A
Fenvastar EcoCap is labeled to be broadcast on your lawn, shrubs, tree leaves and other listed areas for mosquito control. It is diluted 1 fl oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft and you will apply monthly. The application of pesticide products in your mosquito management program will be most effective when existing conditions that are supporting the target population are eliminated. Exclusion and Source Reduction are both significant elements of total mosquito management.

    Exclusion :

    • Install tight-fitting wire screens that allow adequate air flow.
    • Repair or replace torn or ill-fitted screens
    • Screens used over flues and chimneys should be strong, corrosion-resistant, and removed when the fireplace is being used.

Source Reduction (get rid of standing water!):

    • Empty or discard all water-containing receptacles such as flowerpots, metal cans, barrels, or tires
    • Fix leaky plumbing and air-conditioner overflow
    • Prune or remove dense shrubbery or vines around the home which provide excellent breeding grounds
    • Containers where water is stored (cesspools, septic tanks, rain barrels, etc) should be covered with tight fitting lids

    Q
Could I use FenvaStar EcoCap instead of Onslaught for baiting Yellow Jackets ?
It uses the same active ingredient, although at a lower concentration. I'm thinking since FenvaStar doesn't use pretroleum carrier it may be less likely to cause rejection of the bait. And should mix well with water based baits.
    A
Yes, per the product label the Fenvastar EcoCap can be used mixed with foods for baiting yellow jackets and other stinging insects.
