    We have 14 wild bunnies. Will Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 harm them?
    A

    Ferti-Lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 is safe when used as directed.  We would recommend applying when the wild bunnies are not in the area and won’t be for at least 4-6 hours after you water.

    Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 will depend on the condition of the plants beforehand, and overall soil moisture after application, as well as size of the plant. There is not a specific, set time.

    Can I apply Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 when it is 35 degrees??

    As long as the temperatures are above freezing you can make an application of Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10. The foliage may only take up the application if it is actively growing which means it needs to be about 60 degrees for best results.

    Will Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 injure or kill the grass around the trees if any were to accidentally be applied?
    A

    Since Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 is not labeled for use in lawns and only to be used around plants, trees and shrubs, we would not be ablel to advise on the possibility of injury to the grass under the trees. We would recommend contacting VPG directly for information on what this product would possible do to turfgrass if applied. VPG can be reached at 855-270-4776.

    Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 is labeled for the following: Trees and Shrubs, including Shade Trees, Fruit Trees, Nut Trees, Evergreens, Oaks, Citrus Trees, Tropical Trees and Flowering Trees. The amount used will determine what setting you will set your spreader. It is applied at the following rates for trees and shrubs:

    Shrubs: Spread 1/2 cup per sq. yd. of soil area 

    Trees: 1/4 - 3 lbs. per tree (per tree size diameter)-Consult chart on label here. 20 lbs. will feed, up to ten 4” diameter trees

    The Fertilome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 should pose no threat to birds once watered in and absorbed by the plants. Typically birds will stay out of the area while you are treating and as long as your presence is nearby. Once the surface of the soil has dried there would be no risk of harm at all.

    I have 2 large dogs, they go outside for potty time, play time and to just sit and look around. Is this product safe for them to be around?

    Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 is safe for pets as long as they are not in the area during application. They are safe to re-enter the area once the product has completely dried typically after 4-6 hours.

    Can I use Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 and trace minerals at shame time?
    How to get started
    A

    We would highly recommend getting the soil tested first to determine which nutrients the lawn needs prior to applying the products. We do offer a Soil Kit that is sent off to a lab (comes with a return label) or you can contact your local cooperative extension office Master Gardener.
