Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone can be applied to established Bermuda including Hybrid Bermuda.
The rate of the Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone is 1.5-2 fl oz per gallon so we would recommend using 3-4 fl oz per 2 gallons of water. Using less than labeled rates may not provide desirable results and you can reapply at 2 - 6 weeks intervals. The product should not be applied in temperatures over 90 degrees. It is recommended that you apply products in the early morning or late evening.
Areas that have been treated with Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone may be reseeded 2 weeks after application per the product label.
The Fertilome Weed Free Zone product label states that this product should not be used on dichondra because it will harm or even kill it. However, dichondra is not listed as a targeted controlled weed. Southern Ag Atrazine Weed Killer for St. Augustine Grass would be a better option as it is labeled to control dichondra and it can safely be applied to St. Augustine turf.
Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone is not labeled to treat Lesser Celadine. Herbicides which contain the active ingredient glyphosate, such as Round Up, are effective in controlling (but not necessarily eradicating) lesser celandine. Applications should be made in late winter or early spring when leaves are visible, but prior to full flowering, and when temperatures are above 40°F. Glyphosate will impact other vegetation so try to target only the celandine. It may take 1-2 weeks before the full effects of the treatment are visible.
The product label for Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone does not mention the requirement of a surfactant/adjuvant while Drive XLR8 does the addition of one so would not recommend tank mixing them and would be best to apply separately. Not all herbicides require a surfactant as they can already contain a slight amount or adding one could reduce selectivity on turf and injure your grass.
Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone can harm desirable plants such as hostas if they are sprayed directly or drift contacts the foliage. You should also keep applications outside of the dripline of desirable plants.
Yes, Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone will control or suppress creeping jenny.
On cool season grasses, you can use 1.5 – 2 oz of Ferti-Lome Weed Free Zone per 1,000 sq ft. So you would use 13.7 – 18.3 oz to treat your entire area that is 9,147 sq ft, and we recommend purchasing the quart.

Fertilome Weed Free Zone should only be applied to listed established turgrasses on the product label. This product will kill clover that is actively growing.
The Fertilome Weed Free Zone can be applied to dry or damp soil, and it is often recommended to water lawns the day before an herbicide to help with uptake. That is a great plan and should help with any stress the plants may be experiencing from drought. You do not want to have any rain or irrigation for at least 4 hours after an application of the herbicide.
We would not recommend using grass clippings that have been treated with Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone or any other herbicide as the clippings can possibly release a residual into the soil injurying desirable plants and ornamentals.
When tank mixing herbcides for the first time, we always advise doing small Compatibilty Test using small amounts of each herbicide and mixing with waer in a glass jar to observe any physical issues such as clumping or separation.
Please refer to both herbicide product labels for any information on Tank Mixing or Compatibility Testing.
