Product Overview

The Flies-be-Gone Fly Trap is one of the most effective non-toxic fly traps available. Each trap is effective for up to four to six weeks and catches thousands of flies over an area of 50 to 100 yards. Flies-be-Gone traps are all-natural, maintenance-free and completely disposable. Nothing to clean up. For home or commercial use. A farmer’s true friend for use in the poultry industry, on dairy farms, stables, livestock ranches, feed lots and kennels.

The Flies-be-Gone Fly Trap now has a new, improved design for even better fly control.  The lid of the trap has changed from red to black.  Studies show that flies are better attracted to dark colors rather than light colors.  It has been found that light colors can actually act as a repellent.  The pouch is now a multi-layer, reinforced laminate bag with a reinforced wide outer seam.  The bag has also been designed with a honeycomb print on the outside to help hide the presence of the dead flies inside.

  1. Hang trap at least 30 feet away from the area you want to protect (such as your home) in direct sunlight and about 5 feet off the ground. Add the bait packet provided.

  2. Add 1 quart of water.

  3. Add a pinch of soil to the mixture.

  4. Place the lid on the trap and watch the flies leave your protected area and come to the trap. New flies go to the trap instead of to your house.

How does it work?

Flies-be-gone traps appeal strongly to a flies' natural instincts. It provides them with food and a warm place to lay eggs. Once inside the trap, they cannot escape. Flies-be-gone bait is especially appealing to female flies. Up to 85% of flies caught are female, which helps decrease the next generation of flies.

Regular use results in a noticeable decrease in the overall fly population of an area.

    Flies Be Gone Fly Trap

    By Joellen on 09/21/2010

The trap works great, did just as advertised. The only problems I had with it was it's unsightly after you have it up for two weeks. It's gross to see all those dead flies but mostly it started to smell terrible. We had it about 40 feet from our pavilion. But it did work so if you had it some place out of the way it would be great.

Tough call. Works great ... but

This thing catches flies ... period. However, in the end it really didn't change the number of flies we found in the house. There was a very slight decrease, we think, but can't necessarily contribute that to the traps. Note, we are keeping them because they do catch flies very well. But it didn't quite solve our flies in house problem.

    Flies Be Gone!

    By Sue on 07/19/2010

Placed order for bifen and since we had what seemed to be millions of flies in the yard, ordered flies-be-gone. It has been up for 5 days and it is full to the top! There definitely are females in there as there are now zillions of maggots, too bad for them! Good for me! The flies are now minimal to us humans. Just ordered 2 more to keep on catching them. Love Flies-Be-gone!

Q
The water and bait is separating in the Flies Be Gone Trap, is this normal?

Although constantly mixing it while it's hung it, by squeezing and moving the bottom of the bag, the water & bait keep separating. Is this normal? It's been up 2 days, and both days I have gone out and tried to mix it back up. It's cold here in PA now, but the water is not freezing.

A
Yes, the water and bait can separate. However, this separation does not make the Flies Be Gone Fly Trap any less effective.
