    Q
Will Fusilade II Herbicide kill poa labillardierei?
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled to control poa labillardierei, or tussock grass, so we cannot recommend it for this application. • Asked by John from Sarasota, Florida

    Q
Can Fusilade and Quinclorac be added to the same one gallon tank to spray out crab grass and Bermuda on zoysia lawn?
    A
    We recommend applying

Fusilade II and a quinclorac product separately on your zoysia, especially during the summer. Otherwise, we suggest testing a small area first if you are mixing other products along with Fusilade since this may cause extra sensitivity on the zoysia. It is recommended to spray in early spring to control Bermudagrass and not to apply Fusilade during July and August when the zoysia is under stress from heat.

    Q
Can I use a pull behind sprayer with booms to spray Fusilade II Herbicide over my entire yard and not kill my tall fescue grass?
Does Spectracide Weed Stop work on wire grass?
    A

The Fusilade II Herbicide is labeled to control bermuda grass, often referred to as wire grass, safely in a Tall Fescue lawn. The instructions from the Fusilade Product Label for this application are copied below. Spectracide Weed Stop is not labeled to kill wiregrass/bermuda grass.

Over-spray Tall Fescue turfgrass: Application rate should be 5-6 fl oz/A. Application should be made during warm weather in early spring (April, May) when bermudagrass is breaking dormancy. This should be repeated in fall (September, October) when bermudagrass is preparing for dormancy. Applications during the hot months of summer should be avoided. Note: This application will show slight discoloration to desirable turfgrass. Tall Fescue turfgrass should recover within 10–14 days. Weather and cultural treatments can also affect applications. Use a minimum of 30 gallons of water per acre.

  • Asked by Wilson from Memphis, Tn

    Q
I have zoysia grass in a dwarf mondo bed. Can I use Fusilade II safely on mondo grass to kill zoysia?
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide will not harm zoysia grass or mondo grass so you would not be able to selectively spray over one without harming neither, or harming both. You will need to dig out and hand remove any areas of zoyia spreading in your mondo beds.

  • Asked by Joele from Sa
    02/12/2021
    Q
What happens if my dog eats the grass that has been treated with Fusilade II Herbicide that is dry?
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is an ornamental herbicide that should be applied in ornamental beds. The product should only be used on turfgrass if you are trying to control grass weeds in labeled desirable turf. The product is safe for pets and humans as long as they are kept out of the area until it has completely dried. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer advice of the possible effects if your animal consumes the treated grass.

  • Asked by Chris from Il

    Q
Will Fusillade kill existing, actively growing quack grass in an IL cool season lawn
I do not want to damage the rest of the yard comprised of Kentucky blue grass and perennial ryegrass, will this selectively kill new and existing quack grass...typical growth between mowings reaches 3-5
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is labeled for quackgrass (growth stage 6-10 inches), however, we do not currently carry any products that are labeled for quackgrass that are safe for use in cool season turf. We would recommend carefully spot treating with something like Roundup and reseeding the areas.

  • Asked by Chris from Chicago, Il
    04/27/2021
    Q
Will Fusilade II Herbicide kill K31 Fescue (Alta Fescue) in a KGB /Perennial Rye Lawn? If not is there any alternatives besides roundup that are a selective herbicide to remove the fescue?
    A

Fusilade is not labeled to be used to kill fescue at all.  Your best bet is a Roundup/glyphosate based product or another non selective herbicide to spot treat and reseed the areas with the desirable turf.

    Q
Can Fusilade II Herbicide be used to overspray buffalo grass?
I see nothing in the label about buffalo grass. Can i spray to kill Bermuda grass, while over seeding buffalo. Thanks
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled to be used on buffalo grass. We would recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see what you can use in your buffalo grass to kill bermudagrass. Most of the products that we carry can be used on both types of turf, so this would not be helpful to you.

  • Asked by Tye from Upland Ca
    05/11/2021
    Q
Can you spray Fusillade prior to installing fescue sod?
    A

Per manufacturer: Fusilade II works best when applied to the green foliage of actively growing grassy weeds.  Cool season turfgrass sod has the best chance of success when laid on a prepared bare soil area, so there shouldn’t be any plant cover present, weeds or turf.  If prepared properly, there should not be a need to apply Fusilade II until grassy weeds appear in the new established sod. There would be no weed control benefit to applying Fusilade II to bare soil prior to sodding.

    Q
Is Fusilade II compatible with Acalypha and Dianella
A hedge of the above 2 ornamental plants has paspalum growing thru the bushes. If suitable the plan would be to spray low below the leaves
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide can be applied over the Acalypha but the label does not state Dianell. Be sure to make the application toward the ground and not directly on the leaves.

    Q
Is Fusilade II Herbicide an appropriate product to kill foxtail in my horse pasture without harming the horses or fescue?
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled for use in pastures so would not be recommended.  You can use Pastora Herbicide to treat foxtails in tall fescue pastures at the rate of 1.0 ounce/acre. Please review the product label for more information before applying.
