    Q
Will Fusilade II Herbicide kill pennisetums and lomandras (mat rush)?
I have buffalo and kikuyu growing amongst grassy plants (lomandras and pennesetums) will it kill the lomandras and pennisetums? (Foxtail grasses)
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is labeled to control green, yellow and giant foxtail weeds and does list over the top applications safe for red and green fountain grass with the use of a non ionic surfactant. Since the product label does not mention lomandras (mat rushes) as either controlled or safe/tolerant for over the top applications, we cannot advise if this would be safe for those applicaitons.

We would recommend testing in a small area to confirm if any issue before broadcasting completely over any desirable fountain grasses or contacting the manufacturer Syngenta directly at 866-796-4368 for confrimation.

    Q
Will Fusilade II Herbicide kill bahiagrass?
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is not specifically labeled for bahia grass, so we cannot say for certain if the grass will be able to tolerate or will be injured by this product.

Your best option would be to spot treat the bahiagrass with a non selective glyphosate product like Roundup QuickPRO

    Q
How soon after planting zoysia seed can Fusilade II be applied?
I'm in central Florida, my yard has been mostly taken over by wild Bermuda. I'm going to completely kill off my 3k sq/ft front yard and plant Compadre Zoysia seed. How long do I need to wait before applying Fusilade II after germination and at what rate?
    A
According to the manufacturer's product label, Fusilade II Herbicide should only be applied to fully established turf grass, mowed at least 2 to 3 times.  In addition, applications in July and August should be avoided, and you should not treat Zoysia that is under any type of stress.  Please refer to page 11 of the linked label above for rate information, and use as directed.

    Q
Is it safe to use Fusilade II around Rudebeckia or Echinacea?
    A

Rudebeckia or Echinacea (aka coneflower) is not listed as a tolerant plant/flower on the product label for Fusilade II therefore would not be adivsed as this may result in injury. Applications should be made out of the root zones and drip lines, about 10-15 feet away, of plants not listed as tolerable on the product label.

    Q
How many oz of Fusilade II Herbicide per gallon for Bermuda in Fescue lawn?
    A

Bermuda can be suppressed, but it is very difficult to kill completely.  It will take multiple treatments to finally kill it.  Fusilade II is applied at 0.07-0.14 oz/1,000 sq. ft. (3-6 oz./A) along with 0.25% v/v (1/2 pt./25 gals.) of a nonionic surfactant and should be made every 28 days when the grass weeds are actively growing. The higher rates may result in temporary discoloration of the desirable turf with recovery in 10-14 days. Do not apply to desirable turf which is under stress. For best results, make applications in spring and fall and avoid treatments during July and August. Complete control of undesirable grass may take 1-2 growing seasons. We also recommend calling your local county extension office as they usually know the optimum times for spraying lawns in your area.

    Q
Will Fusilade kill torpedo grass in my zoysia lawn?
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide only controls bermudagrass in zoysia so it would not be recommended for torpedograss, it can injure zoysia if used at too high of rates. Drive XLR8 is labeled to kill torpedo grass in zoysia.  However, it will typically require at least 2 applications at 21 day intervals.  Please read the product label for complete instructions on treating torpedograss. Be sure you use an MSO surfactant such as Prime Source Duo Stick for best results with Drive XLR8 as directed.
