“Wiregrass” is a form of bermudagrass which is how many herbicides will list this on their product labels.
Fusilade II Herbicide is labeled for supression of bermudagrass in tall fescue lawns and a Non Ionic Surfactant will be needed for best results. Keep in mind, bermuda grass is extremely difficult to control and you will likely need to make several applications.
Refer to page 11 of the product label for more information.
Fusilade II Herbicide is labeled safe to apply to clover therefore would not kill it.
Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone is labeled to control clover while being safe on Fescue lawns. View the product label for more information.
Yes, a Turf Marker Dye Indicator can be used along with Fusilade II Herbicide and a Non Ionic Surfactant.
Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled for use over clematis so we couldn't speak to its safety or tolerance to the chemical. I checked several other grass killers we carry and none of them have been tested on or around clematis either. You would want to do a small spot treatment in an inconspicuous area to see if any negative effects occur on the clematis before proceeding with a full area broadcast treatment.
It is recommended that you wait until the reseeded area is established before applying any additional products including Fusilade II Herbicide. This will be after at least three mowings.
Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental herbicide is not specifically labeled for Loropetalum and Walter Viburnum. You can find the full list of tolerable species here.
While we cannot comment on the exact combination being successful, Fusilade II can be used to remove bermuda grass from tall fescue and zoysia grass when used at reduced rates. RoundUp is a non selective and will kill Bermuda grass and anything else it touches, including desirable grasses and is usually not tank mixed with a selective herbicide.
Pets need to be kept out of the area while Fusilade II is being applied, but can return as soon as everything is fully dry.
Fusilade II Herbicide can actually be tank mixed with liquid fertilizers, so you can apply either before or after or at the same time.
Please keep in mind, Fusilade II is only labeled safe for Zoysia, Fine Fescue and Tall Fescue turfgrasses for the suppression and/or control of common bermudagrass, hybrid bermudagrass and other grass weeds.
Refer to page 11 of the product label for more information on turfgrass applications.
You can seed Fusilade II Herbicide treated areas after 14 days following application.
This will depend on the specific Turflon Ester product that you are using. Fusillade does recommend to mix with a surfactant for best results whereas many Turflon Ester products do not recommend using one. Due to this it may be a good idea to do separate applications rather than a tank mix. It is important to review the product labels of the items you choose to use for more information and complete application instructions before use.
Fusilade II Herbicide is not applied to lawns and is a grass killer that will not control sedge. Sedgehammer is only applied to listed, established lawns for nutsedge. They should be applied to listed areas on the label at listed rates separately.
Fusilade II Herbicide can be used around established trees including palm trees without harming them.
Fusilade II Herbicide only controls bermudagrass in zoysia so it would not be recommended for torpedograss, it can injure zoysia if used at too high of rates. Drive XLR8 is labeled to kill torpedo grass in zoysia. However, it will typically require at least 2 applications at 21 day intervals. Please read the product label for complete instructions on treating torpedograss. Be sure you use an MSO surfactant such as Prime Source Duo Stick for best results with Drive XLR8 as directed.
Bermuda can be suppressed, but it is very difficult to kill completely. It will take multiple treatments to finally kill it. Fusilade II is applied at 0.07-0.14 oz/1,000 sq. ft. (3-6 oz./A) along with 0.25% v/v (1/2 pt./25 gals.) of a nonionic surfactant and should be made every 28 days when the grass weeds are actively growing. The higher rates may result in temporary discoloration of the desirable turf with recovery in 10-14 days. Do not apply to desirable turf which is under stress. For best results, make applications in spring and fall and avoid treatments during July and August. Complete control of undesirable grass may take 1-2 growing seasons. We also recommend calling your local county extension office as they usually know the optimum times for spraying lawns in your area.
Fusilade II Herbicide will harm Kentucky Bluegrass.
