The studies done on Panic-Veldt using Fusillade have shown to be inconclusive, therefore it is not listed on the label. Using a glyphosate product (Roundup) applied as a foliar spray at 2 percent concentration with added surfactant was shown to be effective against Panic-Veldt. Using a product named Roundup QuickPRO will give you both treatments in one. QuickPRO has two active ingredients: 73.3% glyphosate and 2.9% diquat. The addition of diquat, along with the surfactant, gives you even faster burndown. It controls broadleaf and grass weeds, or woody brush and trees - roots and all.
Using a chemical method along with chemical treatment, will help with control unless you are able to to identify where this weeds originates. Regardless of the method used, more than one year of treatment will be necessary, due to its extensive seedbank, the persistence of which is unknown. Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental herbicide is a selective post-emergent herbicide that controls a long list of perennial and annual grass weeds in turf and landscaped areas without damaging ornamentals. Since Brambles are considered a prickly shrub, Fusilade will not harm them. Fusilade II is fast and effective and it can be applied as a spot treatment or an over the top application without damaging ornamental plants. It can also be used to remove bermuda grass from tall fescue and zoysia grass when used at reduced rates. Fusilade II can stand up to rain after only 1 hour of application.
The Fusilade II label does not specifically list this type of juniper on the label as having been tested as safe to apply to. However, it does list the following types of juniper which may help you to determine if it is a similar species:
Fusilade II Herbicide states on the product label: For established turf, do not reseed desirable grasses to treated areas for 14 days following the application. For bare ground areas which have been treated, wait 30 days to reseed.
Fusilade II can be applied to ground covers including Aptenia cordifolia (Hearts and Flowers-Red Apple) to eliminate grasses including Bermuda and Rye. Please refer to the product label for complete mixing and application instructions.
Fusilade II Herbicide is a grassy weed control herbicide, so it is not safe for use around most types of grasses. Since Kurapia is not listed as tolerant on the product label, we would not recommend using the Fusilade II Herbicide on this groundcover. If you are going to test it for tolerance, we would recommend testing a small area first. If you would like to let us know what specific weeds you are targeting, then we could at least suggest a produce that would control those plants, even if the Kurapia may not tolerate it. You may also want to check with your local Cooperative Extension office for assistance with what herbicides it may be able to tolerate. Since this is a newer type of groundcover, it probably will take some time before it is listed on herbicide labels.
Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled to be used on buffalo grass and may be harmful if applied.
Fusilade II Herbicide is labeled for application on strawberry trees and ornamental strawberries as they are tolerable. Please provide additional information on your application for an alternative solution.
No, Fusilade II Herbicide is a grass killer and will not harm broadleaf weeds.
According to the manufacturer, the Fusilade II Herbicide cannot be used in a container with cactus.
Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled for dichondra. Please provide the plants that you are treating around and distance for an alternate product recommendation. Thank you!
You should keep any animals or people other than the applicator out of the treatment area until your application of Fusilade or other similar products is completely dry, usually 1-2 hours.
Yes you can mix Fusilade II Herbicide with other herbicides such as Prodiamine. Be sure that you are following the most restrictive product labeling. It is always recommended to do a small jar test to ensure there is no clumping or separating.
Since wiregrass is also a species of bermudagrass, there is not a product that would selectively remove it and not harm the bermuda. In this case it would be best to spot treat it with a product like RoundUp QuikPro and reseed the desirable bermuda in those areas.
Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled for dollarweed specifically and is used to control grassy weeds. To control broadleaf weeds in landscape beds or around ornamentals, we would recommend using Snapshot 2.5 TG in early spring before the weeds germinate and spot treating the dollarweed when it is actively growing with a non selective herbicide like Roundup.
Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled for hogweed therefore we could not guarantee its effectiveness. Unfortunately, we do not have an alternative for use in flower beds to treat for hogweed. We would suggest contacting your local master gardener for more specific assistance.
We apologize, but we are not familiar with a product called Fusilade Forte. We do have Fusilade II Herbicide, but this will kill your buffalo grass as it is a nonselective grass killer. Unfortunately, we do not have a product that is labeled to selectively kill couchgrass and not harm buffalo grass. Your best option would be to use a glyphosate based product like RoundUp QuikPro to spot treat then reseed/sod the buffalo in those areas.
No, Fusilade II Herbicide does not control broadleaf weeds or sedges. We would recommend a product like SedgeHammer Herbicide. It is labeled to kill nutsedge without injury to most, if not all, warm and cool season grasses. We do recommend reading over the label to ensure it’s labeled for your type of turfgrass.
You should wait 24 hours after applying Fusilade II Herbicide to water the lawn. Be aware Fusilade II Herbicide is only labeled to be used on Tall Fescue when treating for bermudagrass only. It is not labeled to be used on fine fescue.
Fusilade II Herbicide can be re-applied every 28-30 days. Please see the product label for complete application instructions.
