    Q
How long should I use the Gentrol Point Source discs?
I am only planning to use the Gentrol discs, how many times should I replace every 90 days to make sure I get all possible lifecycles of roaches. I want all of them to be affected.
    A

Each Gentrol Point Source station treats up to 75 square feet for a period of 90 days, which means each station should be replaced after 90 days in order to maintain effectiveness in that area. The shelf life of the Discs in the packaging is 5 years per the manufacturer Zoecon.

    Q
Is Gentrol Point Source Effective against fleas?
Treated my house with multiple strategies. Dealing with very few at this point and may be rid of them, but considered adding Gentrol Point Source disks.
    A
Gentrol Point Source is not labeled for fleas and would not be effective to eliminate juvenile fleas.

Gentrol IGR Concentrate would be recommended for adding an IGR to the tank mix along with an insecticide labeled for fleas and broadcast surface spray application indoors to carpets, rugs, pet bedding, etc. IGR's alone do not kill insects, they only stop the growth cycle.

Gentrol IGR Concentrate is mixed at 1 fl oz per gallon of water along with an approved liquid insecticide concentrate labeled for fleas.

Another option would be to use PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug Aerosol that contains the insecticide and IGR in one convenient aerosol to treat carpets, rugs, pet bedding, etc. Please view the product label for more information.

    Q
If they cover 75 sq ft, how on earth can it be safe to place one "3 ft from exposed food"??
Also, the need for air circulation is stipulated. That implies the active ingredient will need to be blowing around. Again, how could exposed food be safe 3 ft away from it? It isn't clear how these work: "the active ingredient 'moves' from the device into a localized area". Moves how??!
    A
Gentrol Point Source Stations discreetly release microscopic particles of the active ingredient Hydroprene into the treatment area once activated. Target pests do not need to contact the device directly since the active ingredient moves into a localized area. Hydroprene is a biorational Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) – similar to insect growth hormones that occur naturally in roaches and stored product pests - that disrupts the life cycle of certain insects in the egg and larvae stages of development, essentially making it a type of birth control for insects. You only need to keep the disc away from food prep areas not from stored food product. According to the manufacturer, there is almost no hazard from inhalation.

    Q
Can Gentrol Point Source stations be placed on top of kitchen cabinets?
    A

Gentrol Point Source may be used in your kitchen. Exposed food would be fruit or vegetables that are kept on counters and not sealed in a container. You will use 1 disc per 75 sq ft of the room being treated therefore this allows options for disc placement that ahere with the 3ft away from exposed food recommendation per the product label.
Please review the product label for more information about this product.

    Q
Will the discs prevent an adult female german roach from laying eggs? Do the discs sterilize adult females?
    A
Gentrol Point Source Stations will cause the roaches to become deformed. It also will prompt the females to prematurely lay their eggs (the eggs will also be affected by the product).  Gentrol Point Source should never be used to eliminate a roach population by itself.  Gentrol will not kill roaches...it only prevents them from reproducing.  You should use roach baits like the Advion Roach Bait Gel and roach sprays like the Cyzmic CS in conjunction with the Gentrol Point Source.

Please take a moment to look at our Roach Control Kits.

    A
Gentrol Point Source when used as directed will not pose any threats to people or pets or risk of danger if inhaled, it only effects the listed insects on the label. The active ingredient released is so small and has not effect on humans. Please review the product label before application.

    Q
Can Gentrol Point Source be used in my car?
My in laws have roaches and aren’t really treating them and I guess at some point from something being transported in my car I seen one in my car. I killed it but I want to be proactive to ensure that my car doesn’t become infested then my own house, can I put one in my car and maybe under the hood too?
    A

Yes, you could use Gentrol Point Source in a car if needed as the product label lists various modes of transportation including but not limited to aircraft, buses, trucks, trailers, rail cars, and marine vessels. Insect growth regulators do not kill insects so we would recommend considering pllacing a few of the Advion Cockroach Bait Arena stations under the seats, consoles, and in the trunk area to help kill any roaches that may be lingering.

Thoroughly clean and vaccum inside the vehicle to remove any food, spilled beverages, dirt, etc before treating.
