Waste of money!!!

What a waste of money!! I purchased this unit about a month ago and it has done nothing but drain my wallet. I own a food business in NYC and our prep area gets a lot of flies during the summer. I did my research and found no reviews, positive or negative. I liked the discreet, slick and modern design of the Genus Spectra and figured, if it costs so much it must be good. Wrong!! In the 1st 2 weeks it caught 4 flies (not kidding!) I contacted the company and was told that, that is pretty good and to buy other chemicals to combat my fly problem. Really? Chemicals? The Health Department would have a field day at my place. I never write reviews but needed to warn the public.

Before I put this unit up I expected to see at least one fly every day in my garage, but now I do not see any flies at all except for the ones caught on the units sticky boards! The unit has worked much better than I expected!

I liked the discreet, slick and modern design of the Genus Spectra and figured at this low cost and great reviews, it must be good. Right on the money!! In the 1st 2 weeks it caught so many flies (really). I contacted the company to tell them what a great product this is and they told that, that is pretty good and it will take care of any fly problem. I never write reviews but needed to tell everyone about this great product. the public.

Please let me respond to the few who say they only captured 4 flies. Take it to the enemy, dark halls & bedrooms are not ok, find the place they like best, put the light there, mine is by the TV, MOVE the light to where the action is, but then need light-proof window covering or the bugs are attracted to the business/home, as you may find out everytime i open the front door a gush of bugs rush in with me. I'm gonna put magnets to hold room darling material over the door window, so your 4 fly count means let's move it around some--yeah, like that--

NOT all flies species are attracted to light

We have used these machines in countless locations and circumstances and we have never had any issues. The negative reviews are likely based on expecting to catch fly species that are NOT attracted to light. Not all species of flies are attracted to light so you cant expect this to be a solution to every type of fly problem.
