    Q
Will the GIlbert 601T The Don Light Trap work in a dusty environment?
I own a chicken barn and sometimes there is dust in the air but the fans clear it quickly. The unit will be used indoors.
    A

You could use the Gilbert 601T The Done Light Trap. You may just need to replace the glue boards more often if there is a lot of dust in the air.

    Q
How many square feet will the Gilbert 601T The Don Light Trap cover if used in a warehouse?
    A

According to the manufacturer, the general rule of thumb has been to space large traps such as the Gilbert 601T The Don Light Trap every 40 feet around the inside perimeter wall.  If you multiply 40 x 40, you get 1600 square feet.  However, the number of traps required will vary with the type and condition of the facility and the extent of the problem.  If your building is next to a cow pasture, an unkempt dumpster, or if there are several cracks and crevices you may need more then one every 40 feet.

    Q
Does the Gilbert 601T The Don Light Trap kill flies instantly and does it use a glueboard?
    A

The Gilbert 601T is designed mostly for interior uses or in exterior areas where the trap is covered from the weather and not in direct competetion with other main light sources. This unit does not use a glue board.  Flies are lured in by the light and killed instantly when they contact the light.

    Q
On the 601t..how many volts is the load side supposed to produce? I'm reading 160v potential on both sides but
Bugs are landing on zapper rods and flying away just fine.
    A
We reached out to Gilbert to speak to a technician on their team about the Gilbert 601T The Don Light Trap. As far as testing the voltage on that unit goes, you would not be able to test it with a standard electricians volt reader. He stated its a special design and a special took that he has to use when their units come in to check for the correct voltage. The unit should be putting out about 4500V, and he said the most common instance they see when what you are describing is occurring, is one of the grid wires is touching another one or something that is causing it to ground out, and not have enough juice to zap the bug. We would suggest unplugging the unit and checking to see that no grid wires or parts are touching to impact this. If this does not solve the issue, you may need to reach out to Gilbert directly for more assistance. Their technical rep Randy can be emailed with photos or video of what you are experiencing for troubleshooting help, and you can reach him at [email protected] .
