it works
By Gary on 04/29/2019
This stuff works to eradicate bermuda from fescue , but don't try to use extra strong dosage. It usually will take 2 or 3 applications over a period of a couple of years, depending on how bad the bermuda infestation is. Apply in spring and fall when fescue is strongest. It will weaken the fescue , but it will come back in a few weeks. Don't apply in summer and follow directions closely. This is the only product i have found that will kill bermuda without killing the fescue too. One more thing, it takes about a week before you start seeing a yellowing or dying of the grass so be patient, it works...

Bermudagrass in Zoysia turf
By Michael on 06/19/2020
I bought this herbicide because the label says it can be used to kill or suppress Bermudagrass in a Zoysia lawn. I have this problem in my lawn in Central Florida. I spot applied Ornamec 170 about 3-4 weeks ago, and put on another application after two weeks. The label states that the treatment may take one to two growing seasons to completely eradicate the problem. At this point I can state that Ornamec is certainly suppressing the Bermudagrass, and it effects the Zoysia as well but not as severely. I believe the turf will survive and the Bermudagrass will die, but do not know how long this will take. I will revise this review or add another one in the Fall when I know more.

Worked Well
By Wildbill on 09/26/2020
Used this product in my landscaping that has rocks. Killed the weeds and Bermuda grass. Also spot treated areas in my lawn and around the house. The Bermuda grass needed three treatments do to the amount that grew under the rocks and surfaced in a large area.

Killing Bermuda
By Kerry on 05/27/2023
I have a Zoysia lawn, which most people know is a passive grass, which means it is easily invaded and taken over by other turf types such as St. Augustine and Bermuda. Dealing with a St. Augustine invasion is relatively easy compared to Bermuda invading Zoysia. This Ornamec 170 is exactly what I needed. It was able to kill off the Bermuda with only slight temporary discoloration of the Zoysia. This herbicide is strong so follow the label and do not over apply. Give it time to work, do not expect immediate results. Also the shipping from DoMyOwn was fast.

Helpful time saver
By Adrian on 06/11/2022
I have tried other brands of over the top grass killer for the flower beds with limited success. Gordon's Ornamec 170 Herbicide has turned the area of application golden in a few weeks without affecting the blooming columbine or other vegetating flowers. Thank you for helping me need to pull grass from around flowers.

By W on 05/27/2022
The product does what it says it does however, it took about a week before I even saw any signs of yellowing on the Bermuda grass I was trying to control. I'll give it another treatment in a couple of days just to be sure to knock out the Bermuda, and it did not affect my boxwood or flowering plants. I'd try it again unless I see another quicker acting treatment...but this does work!

Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide
By Roy on 07/19/2024
I bought the product specifically to combat invasive Bermuda grass in my backyard. It may ultimately kill the Bermuda. After 2 applications 10 days apart it definitely has desired results as the Bermuda has ceased to grow with no visible impact to the desired fescue plant or roots. The Bermuda stems/runners are weaker and break off easily when pulling on them. I anticipate another application or 2 will eradicate the Bermuda. I am now using the product in another location to prevent Bermuda from expanding with runners. In another month I'd probably give a 5 Star rating if it kills out the Bermuda. It is too soon to tell the long term.

Quack Grass
By My on 09/08/2023
I'm trying this product for quack grass control. Seems to be working, but it is slow to show visually. Two - three weeks before I could observe initial symptoms. This product controls a myriad of grasses and I have no idea which grasses may inhabit my lawn, so the next step is to observe if it may control what I consider "good" grasses. It seems to be a useful product for my quack grass issue and as long as it doesn't kill all grasses in my very imperfect lawn I'll continue to use it.

Does not work!
By Alex on 08/16/2024
I followed the instructions closely and after applying the product at least twice I saw very little change in the invasive grass taking over my ground cover. It caused some of the grass to turn brown but did not kill it. Waste of money and time.

Not as expected
By Dawn on 06/17/2022
My usual herbicide was out of stock. I took a chance on this based on reviews. Not a good choice on my part. Didn't work on weeds but took down some of my ornamentals. Would never recommend it.
