    Q
What is the maximum yearly application rate of Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide?
The label states that you should apply 1.2 to 1.5 fluid ounces of product per .5 to 6 gallons of water over a 1000 sq/foot area for Bermuda grass. It also states that you should limit your applications to 2 per year for Ornmental grasses (Bermuda). Does this mean that no more than 3 ounces per 6 gallons or water per 1000 sq/feet should be applied per year or is the 1.5 ounces the maximum amount per year? Also...how soon should I expect results? Thank you!
    A

Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide product label provides an annual maximum application rate of 1.5 fl. oz. per 1000 sq. ft. in 0.5 - 6 gal. of water per application, unless otherwise specified per grass type, with the maximum number of spot treatments being limited to 2 per year with a minimum of 30 days between applications.

    Q
Is Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide safe for use on centipede lawns?
    A
Broadcast applications are not recommended with Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide as this may cause some injury to Centipede and St. Augustine lawns per the product label. It is recommended to directly spot spray weeds in these turfgrasses to avoid damage that may occur from a broadcast treatment.

    Q
Can Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide be applied as a spot treatment 2 weeks after a broadcast spray to kill Star of Bethlehem weed that is wilted from the 1st application?
    A

Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide is not labeled to treat Star of Bethlehem however so we are not able to advise on a retreatment for that specific weed. Gordons Trimec IS however labeled for wild garlic which is similar so could be why you are seeing some wilting in the weed.

Gordons Trimec has a maximum # of applications of 2 apps per year for broadcast applications and 2 apps per year for spot applications with 30 days between treatments. Retreating afte 2 weeks would not be recommended.

A herbicide specifically labeled for Star of Bethlehem would be Speedzone EW Broadleaf Herbicide and is recommended to apply at the higher rate of 1.8 fl oz per gallon of water per 1000 sq ft.

    Q
Can Trimec Classis Broadleaf Herbicide be tank mixed with Sedgehammer to treat nutsedge this fall?
    A

We would not recommend tank mixing Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide with Sedgehammer due to Sedgehammer requiring the additon of surfactant where a surfactant is NOT recommended with Trimec Classic.

This will need to be two separate applications.

    Q
How many tablespoons of Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide is needed to kill exposed tree roots after removing the stump?
Need rates for using a quart of water.
    A

Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide is not labeled for stump treatment applications and would not be an effective treatment for killing roots/stumps.

We would recommend a product like Ferti-lome Brush Killer and Stump Killer that is labeled for stump applicaitons when applied as an undiluted solution using a paintbrush to cover the entire surface of the freshly cut stump.

Please refer to the product label for application instructions, and use it as directed.

    Q
Is a surfactant needed? Can Classic be used as a pre- and post-herbicide?

Gordons Trimec Classic Broadleaf Herbicide is a post-emergent only. It works better if mixed with a surfactant. It helps to promote sticking to the leaves.

    Q
Non-dormant Bermuda w/seeding poa annua. What product do you have to kill the poa annua now?
We have beautiful Bermuda growth in our yard. While the Bermuda was still dormant, we broad-sprayed the entire yard w/Semizine hoping to control the growth of PoAnna that shows up every year. Need help with recommendations on a product of yours that's going to kill the PoAnna but not harm the established Bermuda. P.S. JFYI, my wife loves her yard more than me. ???? Thanks in advance for the help.
    A

For small areas or spot treating of poa annua you can use Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate. For large areas, you use Certainty Herbicide - 1.25 oz. Both products are safe for established Bermuda.
