The amount of GrazonNext HL Herbicide needed for 30 acres depends on what rate you would like to use. The rates ranges form 1.2 pints -2.1 pints per acre. Please read over the label to find your desired or needed rate.
Per the product label: GrazonNext HL provides preemergence control of germinating seeds or emerging seedlings of susceptible weeds and re-growth of certain perennial weeds following application. Weed establishment following GrazonNext HL application will depend upon application rate, season of application, and growing condition. GrazonNext HL can provide long-term control of weeds. The length of control is dependent upon the application rate, condition and growth stage of target weeds, environmental conditions at and following application, and the density and vigor of competing desirable vegetation. Long-term broadleaf weed control is most effective where forage grasses are allowed to recover from overgrazing, drought, etc., and compete with weeds.
So you would not apply it as an actual pre-emergent application, you only use a post and in the areas it was applied will it have the pre-emergence control.
GrazonNext HL Herbicide is not labeled for the use on food plots.
You should only mix enough GrazonNext HL Herbicide that you plan to use within about 24 hours after mixing. You should not store solution in your spray tank since it can come out of solution, the active ingredient can break down, and this can leave extra residues and possibly damage your spray tank.
GrazonNext HL Herbicide is applied at a rate of 24-34 fl. oz. per acre (43,560 sq. ft.) for buttercup. This would translate approximately to .55 oz. - .78 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. The amount of water will depend on how much will cover a 1,000 sq. ft. uniformly, which is usually 1-2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
You can refer to the manufacturer's product label here for complete application instructions.
You would not want to spray the GrazonNext in a way that would allow any spray drift to reach the cotton as it would harm it. Per the GrazonNext Product Label: Susceptible Plants: Do not apply under circumstances where spray drift may occur to food, forage, or other plantings that might be damaged or crops thereof rendered unfit for sale, use or consumption. Susceptible crops include, but are not limited to, cotton, okra, flowers, fruit trees, grapes (in growing stage), fruit trees (foliage), soybeans (vegetative stage), ornamentals, sunflowers, tomatoes, beans, and other vegetables, or tobacco. Small amounts of spray drift that may not be visible may injure susceptible broadleaf plants.
Most herbicides that would effectively control broadleaf weeds would have a chance of negatively impacting cotton. You would need to apply the product on a non windy day, and move at a slow speed with your nozzles closer to the target weeds to reduce the chance of drift to the cotton or other desirable crop areas.
The rate range of GrazonNext HL Herbicide for sweet clover and white clover is 1.2 to 1.5 pints (19 to 24 fluid oz) product per acre. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions.
GrazonNext HL Herbicide is not directly labeled to kill fruit trees. However, an application could damage them and you would have to discard the fruit for over a year. We would recommend keeping applications outside the dripline of the trees.
Per the GrazonNext product label:
Do not use hay or straw from areas treated with GrazonNext HL within the preceding 18 months or manure from animals feeding on hay treated with GrazonNext HL in compost.
Restrictions in Hay or Manure Use:
Do not use aminopyralid-treated plant residues, including hay or straw from areas treated within the preceding 18-months, in compost, mulch or mushroom spawn. - Do not use manure from animals that have grazed forage or eaten hay harvested from treated areas within the previous 3 days, in compost, mulch or mushroom spawn.
Do not spread manure from animals that have grazed or consumed forage or hay from treated areas within the previous 3 days on land used for growing broadleaf crops.
Manure from animals that have grazed forage or eaten hay harvested from treated areas within the previous 3 days may only be used on pasture grasses, grass grown for seed, wheat and corn.
Do not plant a broadleaf crop (including soybeans, sunflower, tobacco, vegetables, field beans, peanuts, and potatoes) in fields treated in the previous year with manure from animals that have grazed forage or eaten hay harvested from aminopyralid-treated areas until an adequately sensitive field bioassay is conducted to determine that the aminopyralid residues in the soil is at level that is not injurious to the crop to be planted.
To promote herbicide decomposition, plant residues should be evenly incorporated in the surface soil or burned. Breakdown of aminopyralid in plant residues or manure is more rapid under warm, moist soil conditions and may be accelerated by supplemental irrigation.
It is common for the mixed solution to turn milky when using herbicides such as GrazonNext HL Herbicide however it should not be plugging the screen in the sprayer. GrazonNext HL has a shelf life of 2-3 years when stored in a cool dry environment and not exposed to extreme heat or freezing temperatures. Be sure you are mixing at the correct rate per the product label.
It is recommended to triple rinse your sprayer after each use with plain water to prevent any corrosion, buildup or settlements in the equipment. If you've had your sprayer for some time, it could be a new screen is needed from buildup of other pesticides.

GrazonNext HL Herbicide is used at rates of 1.2 - 2.1 pints per acre (19 - 34 oz per acre) with sufficient water to cover that area. You would need to know first how much area your tank covers, and then check Table 3 on the product label for the specific rate for the weeds you are targeting.
According to the product label, it is advised that you wait until the next growing season to plant in or seed an area after treating with GrazonNext HL Herbicide. It will inhibit the growth of grass seeds.
GrazonNext HL Herbicide should not be applied to seeded areas until the new grass has established. We recommend waiting until you have mowed the new grass at least three times or wait after 60 days, whichever is longer, before making an application.
Please read the product label for complete application instructions.
