How do I measure my pipe to correctly order the Green Drain Floor Drain Trap Seal?

When measuring for the Green Drain Floor Drain Trap Seal you want to remove the drain grate and locate the drain outlet. Measure the outlet diameter and that is what size you want to order.

During heavy rains the ground water comes back up the drain and floods the basement floor. Will this valve block water, under slight pressure, from back flowing?

The Green Drain Floor Drain Trap Seal is a one way valve that keeps floor drain odors and drain pests underground. It is applied in floor drains, and water can still flow through the drain opening so it would not also prevent water coming back up which can push through the flapper.
