This should be standard issue! Eliminates odor and bugs/critters from coming up your drain pipe. Simple installation, takes 9 seconds. I'm surprised the plumbing industry is so un-innovative... you find/cannot buy these anywhere. Thank you DoMyOwnPestControl!

Works Great

I have a basement shower that had a constant stench coming up from the drain trap. The trap is vented but for some reason the issue persisted. I usually resorted to dumping Clorox down the drain but this just made the basement that I worked so hard to finish smell like chlorine for days. I took a chance on this product and so far (it has been about a week) it has worked great! No stench and the drain empties as normal. These are certainly pricey, but if it keeps working as it has then it is certainly with the price.

Does it allow water to drain into the pipe? Is it guarantied to stop the drain flies?
The Green Drain Floor Drain Trap Seal is a one way valve that keeps floor drain odors and drain pests underground. It is applied in floor drains, and water can still flow through the drain opening. It keeps them underground in a floor drain. If you have drain flies in other drain openings throughout the structure, you will want to apply the products in our Drain Fly Kit. When measuring for the Green Drain Floor Drain Trap Seal you want to remove the drain grate and locate the drain outlet. Measure the outlet diameter and that is what size you want to order.

During heavy rains the ground water comes back up the drain and floods the basement floor. Will this valve block water, under slight pressure, from back flowing?
The Green Drain Floor Drain Trap Seal is a one way valve that keeps floor drain odors and drain pests underground. It is applied in floor drains, and water can still flow through the drain opening so it would not also prevent water coming back up which can push through the flapper.

The Green Drain Floor Drain Trap Seal fits into either the inside of the floor drain body outlet connection or the throat of the strainer. You should measure the diameter of these parts to determine which size to order. The Green Drain Seal gaskets will flex up to 0.100 inches to fit into pipes. The chart on this flyer and these installation instructions have great pictures to help you determine if this seal will fit your needs.
