    Q
I have an 8000 gallon man made pond. How much GreenClean per 1000 gallons? How often can I put it in?
The pond is in the AZ sun much of the day and algae can grow fast. How much should I use as a preventative?
    A
The label states for high algae growth you should use between 2 and 10 Tablespoons per 1000 gallons of water.  On the first treatment you would probably want to use the 10 tablespoons per 1000 gallons of water if growth is high.  The label just says to re-treat as needed, just do not re-treat within 48 hours of the last treatment.  Environmental conditions determine how fast the algae re-grows and how often you will need to treat.  The label does state that after you treat initially with the up to 10 tablespoons that for maintenance you should use between 1 and 3 tablespoons per 1000 gallons of water.

  • Asked by Jean from Castle Rock, Wa
    02/15/2016
    Q
Does GreenClean Pro Algaecide require running water to activate it?
We have an ornamental pond with a waterfall and have turned off the pump unit before using the green clean. Should we leave the water running or will it work with the pump off and a dry run to the pond portion?
    A

The water pump needs to be running when using GreenClean Pro Algaecide. This will allow the product to work properly on the algae inside of the pond. The mixing ratio is 1-3 teaspoons per 1000 gallons of water.

    Q
How much GreenClean Pro Algaecide do I need to treat 2 acres, 4 feet deep?

    Q
Can GreenClean Pro Algaecide be used to affect alkalinity in lieu of lime?
If it can, at what rates?
    A

While the GreenClean Pro Algaecide does produce carbonate in the water, which can raise the pH (increase alkalinity) of the treated water naturally, this product is not labeled to be used specifically for this purpose. Therefore, we cannot advise you to use the product for this use. You can contact BioSafe directly for more information at 888-273-3088.
