I have seen argentine ants not eat the ProBait Ant Bait, why would this be?

Answer:

ProBait Ant Bait is a very effective product used to control fire, argentine and several other species of ants. However it is primarily a protein bait so if the ants are not going to it you may need to incorporate using a sugar based bait with it to see if this is the nutrional base they are looking for. Also, ants do not always forage for food just like we do not always eat. If they are hungry or needing food for the colony they will search for it and pick it up to take back; if they are not hungry or don't currently need food, they will walk right past it. We would suggest making sure fresh bait is always out and test to see if they are actively looking for food before placing the bait around the home by putting out a dap of peanut butter and a dab of honey in lids of bottles or on tin foil, or try tossing a potato chip in the area of the ants outdoors.
