I've been working to eliminate lawn fungus issues for several years. I've tried the Scott's Fungus Control Granules and the Bayer Fungus Control Spray and saw little to no results. Two applications of Headway G and now all my disease issue are over. Considering all the money I've wasted on Scott's and Bayer products, this stuff is a true bargain!

Expensive, but works!

This is the only product I use to control brown patch in NC. This must be used as a preventative so first application must be done before first sign of disease. Depending on evening rainfall history and daily humidity. I will usually put down first application on June 1 and then every 20-25 days until Sept 1. This is an expensive plan but you will not have brown patch issues thus preserving that green lawn you work hard for.

Great Job!

This product worked quickly and stopped the progression of the take all root rot in our grass. We have had a tremendous amount of rain this year, thus we have dealt with this issue for the first time. We will certainly use it again if need be. Next year, we will treat our grass preventively.

catch early

No, Headway G Fungicide Granules will not effect mushrooms. Generally speaking when mushrooms are present it's because you have too much moisture in your lawn and you need to dry it out. Avoid watering your turf if you are on a watering schedule. You may need to remove the mushrooms by hand, but to keep them from coming back you need to dry out the soil. You will need to do a core aeration in your lawn and we would recommend cutting back limbs that may be causing too much shade over your lawn.
We are not aware of any products to treat for mushrooms in lawns. You may contact your local cooperative extension office and get the mushroom identified and the master gardener on staff should be able to tell you what will work to eliminate the type of mushroom you are dealing with.

You normally apply a fungicide like Headway before signs of the disease common to occur in your lawns starts to be present as long as the ground is not frozen. If you typically get a disease in the lawn every may, for example, then you would want to put down the headway a few weeks before the time it normally presents itself in your lawn, and continue reapplying at the appropriate intervals per the product label for that disease to keep it at bay. You may also want to consult your Master Gardener for the appropriate application time in your area.
I treated my yard with the Headway G for brown dollar spot fungus. I want to apply the pre-emergent before the soil temperature begins to increase. How long should I wait before I apply the pre-emergent?
There are not time restrictions between a pre-emergent and fungicide like Headway G Fungicide Granules application.

Headway G Fungicide Granules is labeled for fusarium. Please see the product label here or full application instructions.
Headway G is a mixture of a Group 3 (propiconazole) and a Group 11 (azoxystrobin) fungicide. Headway G has two modes of action to help prevent resistance however incorporating a 3rd fungicide of a different group fungicide can be effective depending on the specific disease you are targeting.
Please refer to the product label for any additonal recommendations for adding another fungicide to the rotation program and our helpful Beginner's Guide to Fungicides for more information and details.
Yes, Headway G Fungicide Granules can be applied to any residential turfgrass for diseases listed on the product label.
We have a lawn fungus, and I applied Eagle to the impacted areas. 12 hrs later we got about 1.5 inches of rain over 36 hrs. Our lawn guy suggested that Headway was a better option to treat our fungus. Is it safe to apply Headway 3-4 days after the Eagle application?
Is product still good? No setting for Scotts Broadcast spreader on bag.
Yes, the Headway G Fungicide Granules bag is vacuum-sealed closed. When you open the bag, the seal will be released and the granules will be loose.
Unfortunately, we do not have the spreader settings for that specific combo, and since the manufacturer does not list that spreader on their bag we are unsure what the exact setting would be. Due to the thousands of granules on the market and just as many different types of spreaders, there isn't a master list that exists. You may want to try calling the manufacturer of your spreader or the chemical itself directly, to see if anyone on their staff has that info. Otherwise, you will want to calibrate your spreader to the product you are using and its application rates. You can see a short video on how to accomplish this below.
How to Calibrate your Spreader
You can apply Headway G Fungicide Granules at least 14 days after using Bio Advance Fungicide.
The label mentions that may not be safe to apply around certain apple trees, wondering if this is true as well and can be harmful to mango trees
Headway G Fungicide Granules cannot be used over anything edible. Best to keep applications at least 10 feet away from fruits and vegetables and outside the dripline.
