If you think there are rats in your attic you can use rat traps or glue boards like the Trapper Rat Glue Board. It is not recommended to use poison bait indoors since a rat can go to an inaccessible area and die causing a terrible odor and possibly an insect infestation. You need to place traps on their travel path and use a bait like nuts, canned tuna, or peanut butter. It could be a couple of days or sometimes weeks before you eliminate them so please be patient.
