It could be any small sized animal like rats, squirrels or also larger like raccoons. The  E40 Excluder is for squirrels, rats and similar sized animals and the dimensions are 11" x 4" x 4". Traps for racoons will be bigger like the Tomahawk Deluxe Live Trap Raccoon/Feral Cat Easy Release Door - Model 608 , so you would need to make sure your crawl space is big enough.
