Product Overview

Hexygon IQ Miticide effectively controls Tetranychid spider mites in labeled crops. It is an emulsion formula that is designed to be mixed with water and applied as a foliar spray on Christmas tree, Christmas tree plantations, greenhouse tomatoes, ornamental plants and non-bearing fruit trees and vines, established ornamental landscape plantings, ornamental lawns, and turf, non-residential turfgrass, residential pome fruit group. It provides residual activity on eggs and immature stages to help control the mite population through life cycle interruption. It works through both direct contact or from contact with treated plant surfaces. It also controls newly deposited mite eggs and eggs that are produced after application through ovicidal activity. Effective against Pacific Spider Mite, Spruce Spider Mite, Two-spotted Spider Mite, Arborvitae Spider Mite, European Red Mite, Honeylocust Spider Mite, Southern Red Mite, Strawberry Spider Mite, Willamette Mite Banks Grass Mite, Clover Mite, Brown Wheat Mite, and more. Available in quart size.

CHRISTMAS TREE, CHRISTMAS TREE PLANTATIONS

Pacific Spider Mite, Spruce Spider Mite, Two-spotted Spider Mite: 12 to 24 ozs/acre or 4 to 8 ozs / 100 gal.

  • Ground Application: Apply at recommended rates.
  • Air application: Apply in 2-10 gallons finished spray per acre. For best coverage, apply in two opposing passes of 5 gallons each.
  • Chemigation: see details under Chemigation Systems on the label.

Restriction:

  • Do not make more than one application per calendar year.

GREENHOUSE TOMATOES (including tomatoes grown for transplant)

Tetranychid Mites (such as European Red Mite and Two-spotted Spider Mite): 12 to 24 ozs/acre or 4 to 8 ozs / 100 gal. or 0.28 to 0.55 ozs/1000 sq ft.

  • Use a sufficient volume of water to obtain complete coverage but not less than 20 gallons per acre.

USE RESTRICTIONS ON ALL CROPS:

  • Apply this product only as specified on the EPA approved label and any supplemental labeling.
  • Do not graze or feed livestock on cover crops growing in treated areas.
  • Apply Hexygon IQ prior to adult mite build up. Hexygon IQ will not control adult spider mites. Use higher rates on moderate-to-high mite infestations or for larger plants with a dense canopy. If adult mites are present in medium-to-high populations, better results may be obtained using Hexygon IQ in combination with a registered contact adulticide. The use of less than label rates is not recommended with Hexygon IQ.
  • Do not make more than one application of Hexygon IQ or any other Hexythiazox product to the same crop per year.
  • Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other person, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application.
  • Do not plant rotational crops other than those on this label within 120 days of this application.
  • For any requirements specific to your State or Tribe, consult the agency responsible for pesticide regulation. 

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:

This pesticide is toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Drift and runoff from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring areas. Do not contaminate water when cleaning equipment or when disposing of equipment washwaters.
