    Q
My gallon of hi yield 38 thickened and partially solidified over the winter. Is there any way to fix this?
    A
If the Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin is frozen then you can allow it to thaw at room temperature. However, since it was not stored properly it may need to be replaced. You can also contact VPG, the manufacturer and get them to advise. VPG can be reached at 888-583-5296.

    Q
Can I mix and use Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin on vegetables
I bought Hi-Yield 38 Plus for my garden, can I cut and mix this for vegetables. Is the other ingredients same as other ingredients 10% and if so what would be the mix per gallon Thanks
    A
The Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin is not labeled for use on vegetables so we cannot advise on rates for that use nor would we recommend you apply it to anything edible.  The Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor Broad Use Insecticide with 10% Permethrin Insecticide is the Permethrin product that can be used on vegetables and should be used.  The inert ingredients in a product are the manufacturers trade secret that they do not have to disclose so we do not know if there is any difference in the two.

    Q
How many days does 38 Plus last after spraying, taking in to consideration good weather(no rain)?
I want to use for mosquitos.
    A
The Hi Yield 38 Plus will typically hold up to the outdoor elements for at least 30 days and often longer. When using for mosquitoes focus your sprays on the main harborage areas like thick brush and dense foiliage of flowers, bushes, ornamentals and trees around the home.

    Q
What concentration is required for grasshopper control?
What dillution ratio is required for this product for grasshopper control? Should I follow the instruction label, or is there an alternative dosage required?
    A
With any product you always want to follow the instruction label for the item. The Hi Yield 38 Plus actually does not have grasshoppers listed on the label as pests controlled. The label states for lawn applications for other pests like ants, flease, ticks crickets, etc: Use .4 to .8 ounces of Hi Yield 38 Plus per 1000 sq/ft. A great option for grasshopper control would be the Bifen IT.

  • Asked by Greg from Wausau, Wi
    06/10/2014
    Q
My sprayer filter is continually clogging up with what looks like precipitated Permethrin-white and gooey stuff
    How do I prevent this?
    A
We recommend filling your sprayer half way with water, add in the proper amount of product, place the top on the sprayer and shake vigorously, then remove the top and fill the sprayer the rest of the way with water.  The sprayer should work fine but you should only mix what you plan on using that day.  Solutions will clog a sprayer when it is left in the sprayer overnight or for a long period of time. So only mix what you are going to use right then and you should have no problems. You can also rinse the nozzle, filter and wand with hot water.

  • Asked by Kevin from Madison Ak

    Q
    Outdoor pest control
What is the best concentrated overall pest control to use in back yard? I'm considering Hi-Yield 38 plus but up for suggestions. I want to kill mainly mosquitoes, spiders and ants.
    A

Hi Yield 38 Plus is a good product, however, it is not labeled for spiders.

We would recommend a product called Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide. It is labeled for mosquitoes, spiders and ants. This would be an excellent product to use in your backyard. It can also be used inside as well as a crack and crevice spray if needed. It has a quick knockdown as well as a residual of 30 days.

  • Asked by William from Monroe, La
    07/16/2014
    Q
How do I trench around the house for termites, depth, and how close to house, it is a concrete slab.
    Using Hi-Yield 38
    A
Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin would not be the best product to do a trench around the perimeter of your home as it will only kill the termites that contact the treated soil.  We recommend that you use a non-repellent product such as Termidor SC for a termite barrier.  Termidor SC is the top termite product on the market. Termidor is completely undetectable by termites and once termites touch it they contact, ingest and spread the termiticide until it eliminates the entire colony. It will last 10 years or more in the soil.

    Q
What setting do I use for lawn with high yield 38 for webworms. Hose end sprayer?
How many ounces per gallon with hose end sprayer
    A
According to the Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin product label you will use 1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water for webworms. Most hose end sprayers do not have a setting this low so using a hose end sprayer may be difficult.

    Q
My 4 month old female cate just died due to over exposure. What can we do if this happens again?
She was exposed at noon to day and died at 7pm. When I became aware of her medical condition when was unmoving and shakeing real hard in jerking motions. I took her to the bathtub and bathed her in cool water with dawn soap. I repeated the wash and held her in my arms in the water for an hour. We didn't have the means of adequit transpertation to take her to the emergency vet and could not get any other amswer as to any other treatment that we could preform.
    A
We are truly sorry to hear about your cat. The Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin label instructs all pets be kept out of the treated area until the product has dried. When treating with any insecticide inside or outside, it is important to follow the manufacturer's safety proceedures. Once the product has had time to dry, it is safe for humans and pets to be in the area. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
