    Q
Gophers, will this get rid of them without harming??
Hello; I am trying to humanely rid my yard of a gopher. I don't want to kill him, just make him leave. A friend told me to use this product He stated they hate it and will leave Can you please tell me if this is correct and safe??
    A
Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin is an insecticide. This will not be effective for gophers. We would recommend using a repellent, such as Holy Moley Organic Mole Repellent. It is labeled for gophers, as well as various other burrowing animals. This concentrated formula repels animals through taste and smell by granules with castor oil as the active ingredient. Holy Moley can be applied with a standard broadcast spreader and is effective for up to six weeks.

    Q
Can I still buy Diazion 4E???
    A
The EPA made the decision to ban diazinon in 2000 and phase it out for indoor uses, beginning in March 2001 and for all lawn, garden and turf uses by December 2003. All retail sales for diazinon were supposed to end by December of 2002. There are many great products on the market today that are much safer to use than diazinon. Please call us at 866-581-7378 for product recommendations.

  • Asked by Joe from Emmett, Idaho
    05/25/2015
    Q
HELP! Major earwig problem. They are decimating my perennials and newly planted petunias. Nests everywhere.
There are nests turning up everywhere. Destroying everything. Roses, too. Expensive hybrids! SW Idaho. They are ruining my landscaping. What is the best product for outdoor earwigs? Permethrin seems to work, but I pour it on them and I never actually see them die. It seems to eventually work. Suggestions?
    A
Permethrin is actually one of the products we would recommend to get rid of earwigs outdoors. It is normal not to see them die even if you spray them directly. That is because permethrin kills within a day or so, not immediately. If you want to speed up the kill rate you can add Exciter to your Permethrin mix, a pyrethrin is an active ingredient which will offer a faster knockdown. You can find Exciter here: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/exciter-insecticide-p-671.html
