Lime sulfur as a deadwood preservative

    By Howard on 11/05/2012

    Verified Purchase

I use lime sulfur spray "neat" [no dilution] as a deadwood preservative on my Bonsai. It not only preserves the wood but also bleaches the wood giving it an aged and weathered look. We were glad to find available on the internet since none of our local nurseries carry it any more.

    Stopped Rose black spot

    By Anonymous on 06/18/2013

    Verified Purchase

Awesome product. Applied as directed on my roses. The blackspot stopped moving to new leaves. Cleaned the roses up and black spot has become a minor issue. I have around 14 rose plants some over 7 foot tall.

    sulfur

    By Lewis on 06/18/2012

    Verified Purchase

I used a fungicide from the local Walmart and it didn't help with the rust spot on my holly-hock, I ordered sulfur from your Co and it didn't seem to help either . I keep taking the effected leves off from the plant thinking it would get the infected leves away from the plant. I did get a few blooms

Q
How much Hi-Yield Improved Lime Sulfur Spray would I need to buy to treat five large apple trees with scab?
A
According to the product label: Scab. Apply 2 to 2 1/2 fl . oz of Hi-Yield Improved Lime Sulfur Spray per gallon of water in delayed dormant, pre-pink and pink stage. Spray to cover foliage until wet. Without actually knowing how big the trees are and how big the crowns are we really don't have a way to tell you exactly how much product you would need. To be safe you may want to purchase at least two bottles.

Q
Can lime-sulfur spray be used when roses are fully leafed & blooming?

Hope to spray mulch to control/overcome blackspot. Preventing mites would be doubly helpful! If 1/2 oz/gal is used, will it cause defoliation?

A

Hi-Yield Improved Lime Sulfur Spray states on the product label for summer foilage spraying: Apply 1/2 fl. oz. per gallon of water.  Apply at 10 to 15 day intervals in Growing Season for blackspot and red spider mites on roses.

Q
Does this product kill mushrooms in your yard?
A
Hi-Yield Improved Lime Sulfur Spray is not labeled to control mushrooms. We recommend you contact your local cooperative extension office and get the mushroom identified and the master gardener on staff should be able to tell you what will work to eliminate the type of mushroom you are dealing with.

Q
How many ounces should be put in a spray attachment to a water hose to spray tomato plants?
A
Hi-Yield Improved Lime Sulfur Spray is not labeled for use on tomato plants so we do not recommend it for this use. We are not sure what pest you are treating for but we do carry a full line of products that are labeled for use on edible plants: Edible Garden Products.
