Hi-Yield Improved Slug and Snail Bait is a pelleted bait for soil surface treatment in home vegetable gardens, turfgrass lawns, and around ornamentals, fruit trees, and berries. Bait attracts slugs and snails in moist soil, then Metaldehyde paralyzes the pests until they dehydrate in the sun. This new formulation may be applied as needed but will last 3 to 4 weeks, even through rain and sprinkling. For best control, apply to moist soil in the evening when damage is expected or first appears. Broadcast to soil around crops such as beans, cabbage, curcurbits, tomatoes, potatoes, blackberries and more, or under fruit tress such as apples or citrus. Also suitable for broadcast on turfgrass lawns, along fences, and in ornamental beds. Contains Bitrex bittering agent to deter children, pets, and other animals. 1 lb covers 4,400 square feet.

This stuff is great! I have a major problem with slugs. They can wipe out a garden of flowers in a mere night! Hi Yield stops them immediately and lasts for months. I am considering finding another product for Japanese Beetles!

I live in Fl. and it's difficult to find 3 days with no rain but I went ahead & used he bait after a morning rain. It didn't rain that day but did the net. I'm a believer in this product. Ok - so I put this out at night - In the morning it looked like there had been a chemical weapon attack. There were splats of slug covering the mulch. At first I didn't understand what the splats were, then I realized that they were slugs, It was as though they just exploded like the aliens in "Men in Black" This stuff works like a champ. Seriously.

You will use 1 lb per 4,400 sq. ft. or one level teaspoon per sq. yard for smaller applications, preferably in the evening. Apply following irrigation for best results, and do not water for 48 hours after application. Apply when plant damage is anticipated or first appears, and repeat as needed. DO NOT allow bait to contact parts of plants used for food or feed.

I'm using Ortho snail bait, but its only good for around the plants. It would take several bags every couple of weeks.

Bitrex is a bittering agent that makes Hi-Yield Improved Slug & Snail Bait unattractive to children, pets and other animals. If the product is used as directed, it is safe for use around children and pets. It is recommend that you keep them out of the area until the product has been applied.
