    Q
Can I use Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide to treat armyworms in Fescue turf grass?
I have annual problem with armyworms. I wish to treat preventatively with permethrin. Can you advise me...~70,000 sq ft. yard. How often to apply? Use the mixture as in the label directions? Doesn't list armyworms in the labeling.
    A

You can use Hi-Yield 10% Permethrin Insecticide to treat armyworms, however you would use a lot of this product to treat 70,000 square feet. The directions for armyworm treatment with this product are on pages 11-12 of the label here. One of our most popular products used to treat armyworms is Talstar P. You would use up to 1 oz per 1,000 square feet to treat for turf pests.

    A
The Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor Broad Use Insecticide with Permethrin controls a wide variety of turf, garden, and ornamental pests including Bedbugs. However, we would highly recommend our bed bug kits feature top of the line products, the same products used by pest control professionals. Each kit comes with full instructions that explain exactly how and where to apply the products. Our kits have a very high success rate when customers follow the instructions, take their time, and treat thoroughly.

    Q
Can Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin be used on peas, potatos, soybeans, or carrots?
I noticed it only listed certain vegetables, why could it be used on only certain ones. Also what would you recommend for most gardens?
    A
The manufacturer of Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide has tested the product on certain plants and they have listed the plants that the product will not damage and the plants where they know the product will have a beneficial effect. There may not be one product that can treat all of the different plants that you have because the plants are very different as are the types of insects likely to infest each individual species of plant.  Fertilome Liquid Carbaryl Spray is listed for carrots and potatoes. Captain Jacks Dead Bug Brew is listed for potatoes and peas. We do not currently have a product that is listed for soy beans. We recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office and see if they have advice on what products will work best on soybeans to protect them against the pests in your region.

  • Asked by Jay from Wilmington, De
    06/26/2016
    Q
Would Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide eliminate chiggers on our flagstone patio?
Also, is it harmful to chipmunks?
    A

Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide would not be the best product, Permethrin tends to break down faster than other synthetic pyrethroids. We would recommend to use Talstar P, you can use it at a rate of 1 oz per gallon of water and spray your flagstone patio thoroughly and since it's a porous surface, it would be best to spray every 21 days because porous surfaces suck in liquids. Neither product should be harmful to chipmunks.

    05/08/2017
    Q
How many ounces do I mix per gallon of water for Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide?
I have a fire ant problem.
    A

Per the product label for Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide: Mix 1 1/2 fl. ozs. in 1 gallon of water to treat one mound. Apply the solution as a gentle rain to each Fire ant mound using a sprinkler can. Thoroughly wet the mound and the surrounding area to a 4-foot diameter. For best results, apply in cool weather, 65°-80° F, or in early morning or late evening hours. Treat new mounds as they appear. Do not disturb the mound prior to treatment. Treat all mounds in the vicinity, and treat all colonies which have not yet constructed mounds. Do not use equipment that produces a pressurized spray since this will disturb Fire Ants and cause migration, reducing product effectiveness.

Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray to infested rugs, carpets, and pet resting areas. Prior to treatment, aquariums and fish bowls should be covered, and pet animals should be removed from the area being treated. Do not permit humans or pets to contact treated surfaces until spray has dried. Old pet bedding should be removed and replaced with clean, fresh bedding after treatment. DO NOT SPRAY PETS WITH THIS PRODUCT. Treat dogs and cats with a product registered for use on animals.
