    The Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicideis not safe to be used in vegetable gardens and is not labeled for that use. If you are looking to prevent weed growth in an area where edibles are planted, you would want to use Monterey Vegetable and Ornamental Weeder.

    Is Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide effective against Chickweed?

    Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide is not labeled to treat for chickweed. We cannot advise you that it will kill chickweed. We do sell Dimension 2EW which is labeled to treat for chickweed and would be a better alternative.

    I have a Scotts 3000 spreader. What is the best setting for Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide applied on our lawn?
    A

    Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide application rates vary according to what you are treating for and type of turf grass you have. Cool season grasses 2.4-9.2lbs per 1000sq. feet. Warm season grasses 3.5-9.2lbs per 1000sq. feet. 

    Almost all fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, etc have treatments in amounts of so much product per 1000 square feet.  So if you can figure out what your walking speed is then you know anytime you apply any product that calls for so much of it per 1000 square feet, you always set your spreader on this setting.  You can calibrate this by marking off a 1000 square foot (10 x 100) area and placing 4 ounces of any type of product of similar granule size, or of the extinguish in the spreader.  Start with a low setting and start walking your marked off area at a normal pace.  You can adjust as you go and find the basic setting for you to apply the product over a 1000 square feet.

    Yes, Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide will control dallisgrass. The application rates are warm season grasses is 3.5 - 9.2 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. The application rate for cool season grasses is 2.4 - 9.2 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.

    Will Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide kill existing weeds?
    Bought older home in Oklahoma, lots of weeds around ornamental juniper ground cover. What can I use to kill and then prevent weeds without killing ground cover?

    The herbicide in Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide is only a pre-emergent product that prevents weeds from germinating.  It will not kill any actively growing weeds.  If you are dealing with grassy weeds, Bonide Grass Beater Over the Top would be great to use.  Otherwise Lontrel is great for broadleaf.

    Can I use Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide safely in an area of all kinds of roses?
    Have a huge roses area with several varieties. Is it Safe to use? Your bag doesn't list roses in the "Safe" listing.

    Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide does list roses as a tolerable species. It does not state on the product label if there are certain varieties that are less tolerable. We recommend that you contact VPG 888-583-5296 for more information on the types of roses that you have.

    Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide Placement shortly before rain?
    The product says that it works best when watered in with 0.5" of rain, but it also says it should not be applied if rain is predicted within 24 hours (environmental hazard). Can you clarify that? Can I irrigate within an hour of placement? Are they worried about large downpours within 24 hours? Mainly, what is the concern if it rains within 24 hours of placement if the product needs to be watered in?

    Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide should be irrigated within 24 hours of application. We do not recommend to apply before a rain, because you have no idea how heavy that rain will be.

    We have well water. Is this product safe to use in our case?

    The Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide Label states only: To protect environment , do not allow pesticide to enter or run off into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters or surface water. It does not specify about septic systems or wells, therefore we would recommend contacting VPG directly at 1-888-583-5296.

    We have little league and are curious of whether this would be safe for play.

    We would recommend not applying Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide while children are in the area. Once it has settled, it is safe for children to be in the area. Per the label, it is hamful if it is inhaled.

    Can Hi-Yield Weed & Grass Stopper be applied on melting snow?
    I live in Texas where when it snows it usually melts in 12 hours. Such is the case today. Can the product be applied on ice or snow and allowed to soak in slowly instead of watering it in or does the snow/ice negatively effect the product?

    You do not want to apply herbicides or pesticides directly on snow or ice or to any soil that is frozen. You should wait until any snow or ice has melted and either soaked into the ground or evaporated. You can contact your local cooperative extension for the best timing for your pre-emergent application in your area.

    No, Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide is not labeled to control dandelions.

    Dimension 2EW is labeled for dandelions pre-emergently. This has more of the active ingredient which is why it is likely labeled for dandelions and the other product is not.
