    Q
Is it safe to apply another weed killer such as 2-4-D with Hi-Yield w/ Dimension? To kill weeds like nutsedge
    Or dandelions, poa annua.
    A

You can use another herbicide at the same as using a pre-emergent such as Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension as long as you are following the product labels for what you are using. If you are putting down a post-emergent at the same time as your pre-emergent, then you will want to delay watering-in the pre-emergent for at least a day so that you do not wash away the post-emergent. (The Hi-Yield with Dimension must be watered in to be activated.) Most 2,4-D products will control dandelion, but that active ingredient will not kill nutsedge or poa annua. If you would like to tell us what type of turfgrass you have, then we can recommend products to kill these weeds.

  • Asked by Santiago from Boca Raton, Florida
    04/18/2018
    Q
Does it make sense to apply pre-emergent more than twice a year in South Florida lawn?
I have St. Augustine (floratam) lawn in S. FLorida where the temperature never really drops below 50 for more than a few days at a time. It seems like weeds never stop germinating. Does it make sense to apply this product more than once in spring and fall? How much time should I leave in between? Thank You
    A

When using Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension, you can either do more frequent applications using less product, or you can use higher rates and apply less frequently. There is an annual maximum rate that you can use, however, so if you are still needing additional weed control, then you may need to alternate with a different pre-emergent product. There is a maximum single application rate of 9.2 lbs per 1000 sq ft, and an annual maximum of 27.6 lbs per 1000 sq ft per year. The 4-4.7 lb rate will give you 3-4 months of control, so if you used that rate 3-4 times annually then you would still be within the annual range.

Keep in mind that not all weeds can be controlled with Dimension, and not all plants can be controlled with any pre-emergent herbicide. So for the best treatment plan, be sure you have identified all the target weeds so you can have a comprehensive treatment plant. Let us know if you need further assistance!

    Q
How soon should Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide be watered in?
    A

The turf herbicide and fertilizer components in Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide are not effective until activated by rainfall or irrigation. Q
Can I still plant tomatoes, or with they be unsafe to consume after applying Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide?
I put it down today and I'm afraid a little may have gotten into my garden where I plan to plant tomatoes.
    A

The Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide is not safe to be used in vegetable gardens and is not labeled for that use. We would not recommend planting tomatoes there or consuming any that were treated by mistake. If you are looking to prevent weed growth in an area where edibles are planted, you would want to use Monterey Vegetable and Ornamental Weeder

  • Asked by Don from Lebanon, Ohio
    03/05/2018
    Q
What should I use next after applying Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide?
I've applied this as my early spring preemergent. I can see that I have about 4 weeks of control. So, what should I use next and when? I love in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and I applied this when soil temps were at around 55 degrees, but they have of course dropped back down. So, should I reapply? What should I use for summer control? Thanks
    A

You can reapply Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension for extended control as long as you are not exceeding the maximum rates of 9.2 lbs per 1,000 sq ft per application and 27.6 lbs per 1,000 square feet per year. If you have existing weeds that you need to kill, then we would need to know the specific weeds you are targeting to make a recommendation for post-emergent activity. • Asked by Rick from Pittsburgh,pa
    02/27/2018
    Q
Is the hi-yield weed and feed as effective than hi-yield crabgrass preemergent?
I want superior crabgrass control so is preemergent more effective than weed and feed or is weed and feed just as effective per bag comparison
    A

Hi-Yield Turf & Ornamental Weed and Grass Stopper contains dimension pre-emergent which provides superior control of crabgrass as well as control or suppression of other listed weeds when applied before they germinate. This will also provide post-emergent control of crabgrass only and is effective on crabgrass up to 4 to weeks after it has germinated and emerged.  A weed and feed product is fertilizer with either a pre-emergent or a post emergent mixed in with it.
