    Q
When should I reapply Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide?

July 9th used hose -end to apply Honor Guard PPZ w/14.3 Prop. at 2 oz. per gal.. Guess on 7-23 should reapply at same rate? Also, should I use a different product? Brown patch. Bad. If I need to alternate products, please advise and I will buy from you. 1.3 acres-quite a job!!

    A

When treating brown patch with Honor Guard Fungicide, you should reapply at 14-21 Day Intervals. We would suggest using the higher rate for curative disease control. We would not recommend using the same fungicide for more than two subsequent applications. Clearys 3336F Fungicide is in a different fungicide group and would be a good choice to rotate with Honor Guard for treatment of Brown Patch. Please refer to our Brown Patch Treatment Guide for more information.

    Q
How long does Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide last before re-treating for brown patch in my lawn?

The turf grass is empire zosyia, and we are located just north of Orlando, Fl. As a preventative in advance of brown patch, how often and what months should we be spraying?

    A

Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide should be used every 14-21 days before the disease is present. The mixing ratio is 1-2 fl. oz. per gallon of water. Brown patch will flourish in prolonged hot and humid weather, so you likely will not need to apply before temperatures reach 70 degrees. See our Brown Patch Treatment Guide for more information about treating for this disease.

    Q
Would Honor Guard Be Effective for Turf Brown Patch ?

I have Brown Patch fungus in my lawn and am looking for a fungicide for control. I had Brown Patch last year and the year before and each fall reseeded the dead areas of the lawn. This year I did a light top dressing of compost as a method of control I read about in a University study. It looks like the Brown Patch has slowed, but I would like I would like to know if Honor Guard would be a good choice to treat this fungus. I have both a tank sprayer and hose end sprayer.

    Q
Is Honor Guard w/propiconazole safe to control brown rot on nectarines
    A
Honor Guard PPZ is not labeled to be used on edible vegetation so we cannot recommend it for that use.  We do carry the Southern AG Insecticides Liquid Copper Fungicide which is labeled for this use.

    Q
Should I spray the whole yard or just the infected areas with Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide for brown patch?

For 60% Zoysia and 40% Bermuda, mostly Bermuda is infected with brown patch. Will I use 1 oz per gallon? Also, temps are high now but can I apply early morning & then water in?

    A

Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide with 14.3% Propiconazole should be applied to the areas that need to be treated as well as the other areas for prevention of brown patch on the turfgrass. It is best to treat when the temperatures do not exceed 80 degrees. You will mix 1-2 ounces per 1,000 sq ft for brown patch. The first thing you need to know when using a fungicide such as Honor Guard PPZ  is that the exact amount of water you dilute it with is not important. It is only important to make sure you are using the correct amount of product per 1,000 sq ft of lawn. Use too much and you risk damaging your lawn, use too little and you will not get adequate results. You will need to read the product label to find out how much product you need for the disease you are trying to treat. To decide how much water you want to use, you should mark a 1,000 sq ft area, fill your sprayer with water ONLY, and start walking and spraying just as if you were doing the actual application of herbicide. When you are done walking and spraying the 1,000 sq ft area note how much water it took you to spray that area and that is the amount you will want to mix with the measured product for each 1,000 sq ft area that needs to be treated. You will need to make sure treated areas are irrigated with at least 1/2 inch of water (either by rainfall or by sprinkler) following the application.
